No propane basket good size for air fryer Overall good product
With no charcoal or lighter expense and ease of use and cleanup, this grill/smoker is a real winner...a must have.
Traditional pellet smokers still require more attention during cooking, but this one is truly "set it and forget it" for the most part. There is zero issue with "flaming up" due to the pellets not being used for cooking, but only for flavor. It is pretty much an electric oven/grill/griddle with the ability to blow smoke around the food to make it have a delicious smoked flavor.
The only thing you need to remember when smoking large pieces of meat is that it does need to have the rather small pellet hopper and needs refilling every hour or so.
I also find that the temp I need to smoke things at is just a little lower than what people using traditional pellet smokers recommend.
!
Lot's of folks with video instructions but the key is that it is using very efficient convection so get your grill marks and Woodfire flavor on Hi and then back down to Bake to finish the cooking process for meats.
The meet is always cooked perfect, is tender and juisy.
I am in love with it. It is a must have for women without a man around to do the grilling.

1. 4-in-1 Versatility: Grill, Smoke, Bake, and More! 🔥🍖
Let’s start with the most impressive feature: this Ninja is a 4-in-1 powerhouse. It’s not just a grill—it’s also a smoker, a baker, and more. I’ve used it to perfectly sear steaks, slow-smoke ribs, and even bake a pizza outdoors! The versatility is unmatched, making it ideal for all types of cooking. Whether you’re hosting a backyard BBQ or having a family dinner, this grill does it all. I love being able to switch between functions so effortlessly.
2. BBQ Smoker Mode: Smoky Goodness, Perfectly Infused 🌬️🍗
The smoker function is where the Ninja Woodfire Pro XL truly shines. The smoky flavor it infuses into meats is out of this world. I smoked a rack of ribs for a few hours, and the result was fall-off-the-bone perfection with that deep, rich smoky flavor you usually only get with bigger, more complicated smokers. The best part? It’s all super easy to control—you don’t need to be a pitmaster to get pro-level results.
3. Built-In Thermometer: Perfect Doneness Every Time 🌡️🥩
The built-in thermometer is a total game-changer. Say goodbye to guessing or constantly lifting the lid to check on your food! You can monitor your food’s internal temperature and know exactly when it’s done. Whether you’re cooking burgers, chicken, or even a roast, the thermometer ensures perfect doneness every time. This little feature takes all the stress out of grilling and smoking—you set the temp and let the Ninja do the work!
4. XL Cooking Space: Feed the Whole Crew 🍔🍖👨👩👧👦
This grill is designed to feed a crowd. The extra-large grilling surface gives you all the space you need to cook up a feast. I’ve easily grilled enough burgers, sausages, and veggies to feed a party of 10. The spacious design lets you cook a variety of foods at once without having to do multiple rounds of grilling. It’s a huge time-saver, and let’s be honest, the more food you can grill at once, the better!
5. Easy to Use, Easy to Clean: Stress-Free Grilling 🙌🧼
Even with all its power and features, the Ninja Woodfire Pro XL is super easy to use. The controls are intuitive, and it’s quick to get the grill going, whether you’re using the grill or smoker mode. And cleaning? It’s a breeze. The non-stick surfaces and grease management system mean you won’t spend ages scrubbing down the grill after an epic BBQ session. It’s low-maintenance, which is exactly what you want from a high-quality grill.
6. Built to Last: Sturdy and Reliable Build 💪🏽🔥
This grill feels as durable as it is powerful. The sturdy construction means it’s built to withstand the elements and the test of time. Whether you’re grilling every weekend or just occasionally, the Ninja Woodfire Pro XL is built for the long haul. It’s the type of investment you make once and use for years, confident that it will perform flawlessly each time.

The Ninja Woodfire Pro XL isn’t just a grill—it’s an all-in-one BBQ experience. It’s the perfect combination of versatility, power, and ease of use. MOST ELECTRIC GRILLS DON'T GET HOT ENOUGH, BUT THIS ONE WORKS GREAT.
I HAVE COOKED STEAKS, RIBS, CHICKEN, AND PORK CHOPS ON IT.
IT IS NOT QUITE LIKE MY GAS GRILL BUT A GREAT OPTION FOR A PLACE WHERE I CANNOT HAVE A GAS GRILL.
I HAVE NOT USED THE SMOKER FEATURE.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
I have owned several smokes, & grills, this is super easy to work with, and clean up. I will never buy another grill/smoker unless I need a new one of theses
The I tried smoking some pork tenderloin. It came out perfect with just the right amount of smoke flavor and excellent melt in your mouth tenderness.
I have air fried French fries. It worked but I believe the one I have in the house is a bit better at that task only much smaller.
My only complaint about the product is the door to the chamber that holds the pellets sticks every time i need to use the grill but I can always get it open.
pork roast next. Well worth the money.
Cooks just like regular grill.
Food taste great.
Super easy to get that Smokey flavor in anything!
This outdoor smoker, grill, and air fryer is extremely well-made, solid, and durable; I can't believe I can add smoke flavor to my food now using an electric appliance. This Ninja XL model is an upgrade over the previous model, however I should point out that the upgrade was just in size, not in features. This model is larger than the previous one but has less modes; since it is a 4 in 1 appliance, but the size upgrade is very helpful for preparing large meals since I can easily fit two whole chickens and I believe I can fit a 20 pound turkey, but I have yet to try this. I'm lucky to have a close by GFCI outlet in my backyard; otherwise, I would have needed a long extension cord because the supplied power cord is just 2 to 3 feet long. Cleaning the pan and the smoker is easy; I rinsed and dried the pan and used a damp towel to clean the smoker.
This smoker does not come with a stand, which I would have loved. I would have loved to see a griddle pan as well. It does, however, come with a probe with which I can set the desired temperature and it will notify me when the food is done. The included instruction book was not designed specifically for this model because every QR code I scanned in the book took me to a page where I had to download the mobile app, but this model does not have WiFi like the Woodfire Connect model. Aside from that, it's a fantastic appliance that I'm sure I'll be using for years to come, and I've been recommending it to my friends and family.
Included is a non-stick grill surface, an air crisp basket, temperature probe, 2 small bags of pellets, a grease tray and liner, a pellet scoop, and documentation. The build quality is pretty good and about what I’ve come to expect from Ninja. The base and handles are plastic, and the lid is cast aluminum. It features an intuitive digital control panel, a convection fan, an integrated temp probe port, and temp probe storage.
It’s easy to use, simply plug it in, fill the pellet hopper, choose the mode temperature and cook time, then press ignite. Wait for it to preheat and display “add food”, then start cooking.
In “grill” mode on the “Hi” temperature setting, I was able to heat the cooking surface to almost 560 degrees which is hot enough for searing (barely), and it heats pretty evenly.
Most importantly, this is capable of producing great food in a variety of cooking styles (grill, smoke, bake, air fry, etc..). The grill will fit some large cuts, but not all. You could cook a whole chicken (even two), but maybe not a turkey (depending on size). You won’t fit a whole packers brisket or a full rack of ribs, but almost anything else should fit (roasts, pork shoulder/butt, ham, etc…). This even has a cold smoke feature (haven’t tried it), for cheeses, salmon, bacon, etc…
The nonstick grill and air crisp basket are NOT dishwasher safe (which is disappointing). The cord is only about 2ft, so you will need to supply an appropriately rated extension cord. You cannot use abrasives to clean the nonstick surface and I would assume this also means you shouldn’t use metal utensils.
According to Ninja you are only supposed to use their pellets which are extremely expensive by comparison. I could not tell any difference between their pellets and other brands I use, so I have to believe this is simply a marketing tactic to get people to buy their overpriced pellets.
Overall, this a modern outdoor cooking gadget that is easy to use and produces great tasting food. It is particularly good for apartment dwellers, or anyone with limited space or living in a community with restrictions on BBQ fuel sources. That said, it could be better. I would have liked it to have a longer cord, dishwasher safe parts, and an included cover.
