I love how versatile it is, the different pod sizes allow me to enjoy everything from a quick espresso shot to a full mug of coffee. The machine heats up quickly, operates quietly, and the sleek design fits beautifully in my kitchen. The rotating water tank is a brilliant feature, making it adaptable to any countertop space.
Cleanup is effortless, and the automatic pod ejection system is a bonus. This is hands down one of the best investments I’ve made for my coffee habit. If you’re a coffee lover, you NEED this in your life!
Here are some of my favorite things about it:
1) the ~aesthetic~ obvi
2) all the pods are made with recyclable material with minimal plastic #savetheplanet
3) there are so many different options for your morning brew, from espresso to coffee, there is a unique barcode on each pod that tells the machine what size and type of brew you’ve got working!
The sample box of pods comes with coffee pods and espresso which is amazing so far. I always had keurigs and the Nesspresso is so much better. The crema on top creates a great flavor for the coffee. I find the machine to be pretty quiet when brewing when comparing to other models and think it’s worth the price point.
My go-to drink with this guy is mainly a double espresso pod with some frothed oat milk. Some here have mentioned the 7.7oz coffee pods taste kinda meh (just black, straight up); I think they're decent enough but again I got this with the extra Aeroccino 3 to make those extra creamy drinks. The crema results from the pods are super awesome too, one of the main reasons to get this unit in my opinion. Otherwise if you want straight black coffee I'd stick with drip/pourover/french press if you're mega picky and want to save some money (after all the package I bought was the unit + Aeroccino 3 for ~$200 including tax).
I don't have much negative to say other than it took a minute to get the machine to perform an initial "clean" where it basically pumps hot water out a few times. Easy "get started" guide has simple instructions: plug the unit in, turn it on, fill up the water tower, and press the top button three times- I tried this step maybe 3-4 times and it didn't work until the 5th time, not sure why. Additionally, I also wished the AC plugs for the unit + frother were right-angled: they are heavy duty but they stick out a lot coming straight out of the wall. Like many others I don't have a lot of counter space in terms of depth. Otherwise we'll see how easy it is to descale this thing as I've heard a small % of folks had some issues.
All in all I'm happy as I'm probably looking at under ~$1.80 a drink for my morning cups, which beats $5.00+ at Starbucks every morning. That and it probably takes 4-5 min to brew and cleanup. There's a reason this VertuoPlus has high praise, and I myself am a fan.
The manual is unfortunately a little insufficient. When you get it, you need to watch youtube videos - and Nespresso does have their own. I even had to check reddit for help with something ( the initial cleaning step, but now all is good, and everything works as intended. ).
I bought it for a specific purpose: I just want a 5 oz. cup of coffee that does not require any sweeteners, to drink before I get on my treadmill first thing in the morning. And this stuff is excellent, and thus does not need any sweetener and milk. I'm keeping my other coffeemaker for larger cups later, where i put my collagen in, etc, that I drink with my breakfast after exercise.
The frother: does an excellent job with steamed milk however I've noticed the cold foam isn't as effective. I may be missing something here but the option I can have hot or cold either way is fantastic.
Overall I'm new to nespresso machines/pods but have had many other coffee machines mostly Kurig. The nespresso pods are more pricy but essentially you get what u pay for and quality coffee is important to me.
Worth every penny
