Why Choose the Intex Prism Frame Pool?
This pool is the perfect choice for families seeking fun and relaxation without the cost or hassle of large installations. Its compact size makes it ideal for smaller yards while still delivering the durability and refreshment of a full-size above-ground pool.
Stay cool. Stay safe. Stay refreshed with Intex.
Because it was heavy. But when we put it together Nothing was damaged. Looks great
Instructions are great
Huge Size: This pool is massive! Plenty of room for the whole family to swim and play, and even enough space for some serious laps. The 20ft diameter is perfect for our needs.
Sturdy Construction: The Prism Frame is incredibly strong and durable. The metal frame is robust and the liner feels thick and well-made. We've had it up for a couple of seasons now, and it's held up beautifully.
Easy Setup (for a pool this size): While it's a big pool, the setup was surprisingly manageable. It definitely takes a few people and some time, but the instructions were clear, and we were able to get it assembled without too much trouble.
Complete Set: We opted for the set, and it came with everything we needed – the pump, ladder, ground cloth, and pool cover. It was great to have everything included and not have to purchase things separately.
Great Value: For the size and quality, this Intex pool is an excellent value. It's provided countless hours of fun for our family and friends, and it's definitely worth the investment.
Overall, we are thrilled with our Intex Prism Frame pool. It's a great size, well-made, and relatively easy to set up. It's brought so much joy to our backyard and is the perfect way to beat the summer heat. Highly recommended!
The pool is a good size for a couple of adults to float around in or for 4-5 children. It fit perfect on a 10x10ft patio and came with a cover. The pump is a different issue and is undersized for the pool. We were having to run if 4-6 hours a day and change the filters about every other day because they are so small. I highly recommend up grading to the 1000 GPH pump. You will only need to run it about 2 hours a day and change the filters about once a week.
I’ll say that the instructions are not great but that’s why we have YouTube.
We removed the grass, leveled out the ground, added 1 layer of weed barrier, 1 layer of tarp. Created small holes in the trap for drainage. Added a 1-1/2 inch foam and a layer of a black pool pad on top of the foam. It might sound like over kill but the pool floor feels amazing with 4 layers of protection under the pool. We then added shells and stepping stones around the back side of the pool to reach the pump.
Once the ground was prepped, the pool took less then 30 mins to setup and about 5 hours to fill the 10'x30" with water. I also tied rhe chlorine duck by the filter water that is reentering the pool to make sure the chlorine is evenly spreading throughout the pool. So far it's been working great.
Overall, the pool is well made and the kids and adults love it.
Some caveats: The filter clogs pretty quickly and requires cleaning depending how much debris you have. My pool is under some trees, so it’s daily cleaning for me. I purchased a second filter to swap between them as needed. The filter is also kind of weak, so you may want pair this with a handheld pool vacuum for that dirt that inevitably goes to the bottom.
Buying suggestions: the official Intex cover, an extra Intex filter, a ladder for kids, a small chlorine floater and tablets, water test strips, shock.
Tomorrow will be true test, once the kids hop in. I will update after we have used it for a bit.
Now for the bad part of a pool… maintenance! The pump that comes with this is crap, replace it immediately! ( Intex should be ashamed that this comes with their pool!) get the intex C1000. Get lanluan reusable filter type c . Washable and reusable same as throwaway filter but takes out more and way cheaper. I’d suggest getting two. Pop one out put spare in, clean and set aside for tomorrow. With 4 kids jumping in and out you will need to change filter daily. Get the pool maintenance kit (vacuum, skimmer net, pole, &broom)about 35 bucks. I would also suggest getting the portable rechargeable vacuum. The one that comes in the maintenance kit, you have to use with the hose, and i got tire of dragging the hose to the pool, and making sure I didn’t put any additional dirt in the pool from the hose. It was a pain. The rechargeable Vacuum cost about 70 bucks at Wally World. Get test kit! You need this!!!! Chemicals of course. I tried the peroxide, baking soda route, extremely labor intensive. I prefer the liquid chlorine, more control than the tablets. Use shock once or twice a week and you too will have a crystal clear pool. Also get the clarifier and algaecide together. Hope this helped! Ps remember with chemicals it’s made for 10,000 gallons. Only use 1/10.Ten uses out of a bag of shock. Hope this saves you time and money.
We have had no issues. The pool cover Is just okay. We bought a better one.
After asking me for the same info over and over, I finally got snippy with them. They sent a replacement liner last week, so I've changed my rating from 1 star to four stars. I'll have to wait until next year to see if the replacement is leak-free.
Another Update:
It's been months since I started the support request process. I have sent everything they've asked for and today I received yet another request for info that I've already sent multiple times. I firmly believe that they are just trying to wear me down into dropping the request for a replacement liner...but I AM STRONG AND WILL NOT GIVE UP!
Update: I submitted a request for warranty support, including all the info about the pool, the purchase date, the Amazon info, etc. They sent a response from a "no-reply" mailbox asking me to reply with info about the pool...the purchase date, the Amazon info, etc. (Rolls eyes.) I sent another request to their website, but I'm not optimistic that I'll get any type of meaningful response.
Original review:
Wanted to like this but after setting it up we found that it has a couple of slow leaks at the seams, so it can’t be patched. It still holds water so we’ll just keep refilling it so the kids can use it for the rest of the summer.
I've had it up for 3 weeks, and with just a debris cover over it, it has lost very little water. No holes, no leaks.
We have named our pool Eileen. Because she leans. Not anyone’s fault though. Also we are getting it fixed. We had our yard leveled out but rain made it sink into the sandier part. That’s not the pool’s fault though so we’re going to place the poles on half inch cement pads. Otherwise best thing ever. Just a heads up if you don’t have an even slightly level yard! But since it’s already filled we will fix it when we take it down at the end of August. Best pool ever. Highly recommend and am in it every single day. Love it! But you MUST have a level ground! Would buy another one in a heartbeat!
Intex is the best by far!!!
Need refills. Overall great purchase
It’s sturdy. The vinyl seems thick enough.
I am careful with this pool. I want it to last all summer long. I live in Southern California.
This one is better really all the way around except we need steps to get in and out. My husband is tall enough to step in without step stools or ladder though so check your inseam or plan to get yourself something like pool steps/ladder.
I do agree with some reviews that a little larger pump would be nicer, but the one it came with works okay so far as long as I keep up on cleaning the filter and make sure to keep the proper chemical levels.
I love that it also has the automatic timer for the filter so I don't have to watch the clock.
I did purchase a pond liner to set it on rather than directly on the patio.
There is a little slope to our patio, more than I would like for the pool, but it still works. I just adjust the supports if needed as the kids play.
The only thing I would like to know, if there is a small pool heater that would be recommended.
I did have to add several things to get it set up to my liking. I added a valve to cut the water to the pump to make filter changes easier. And I purchased a chlorine generator system (Intex QS400) to make the pool salt water instead of needing to check and daily add chlorine tablets. The generator was as much as the pool , but totally worth it to lower the maintenance. I also used the pump I had from the previous pool, it’s a step up from the one supplied, and I already had extra replacement filters. It’s been great so far.
Also I added a ladder I purchased from Walmart 36” for around $50.
6/26/24
At first, I was very skeptical about whether to purchase this pool because of the reviews. I have seen some bad reviews on it.. yet some good ones. The day it got delivered was today. As you can see in the photo I provided it was in okay condition, but everything inside was still intact and safe, with no damage. I have seen lots of bad reviews on how there were holes, I did not see any holes, but it was completely fine.
Pricing and what came included: I would say it was worth the price for this big size of a pool plus with what it came with. I got the 15x42. It can fit about 8 or more people.. you can even throw a little pool party if you want too. This pool came with a few necessities, a ladder, filter pump, ground tarp, and pool cover.
Set Up and its Process: It took about 2 1/2 hours. It took about 3 people to help. Me + my 2 sisters. We started around 12:30pm, finished around 2 pm, and started filling up the pool around 2:30. As I'm writing this review it is almost somewhat filled. I added another photo there and it was around 8 pm. The process overall was very easy, it was just a lot to do since the pool is pretty big. So far no leaks are happening.
Filter Pump + other problems people had with this product: We have not tried the filter pump yet but I have seen so many bad reviews about it. But overall we have had no problems with the pool. I will probably update on how the pool is a month later + add an update on the pump!
It is worth the buy! 😊
Update 7/22/24: The pool is awesome and the pump works perfectly fine, at times it did stop working but I fixed it right away and it was back to normal. Unfortunately, there was a leak but due to something my parents moved and accidentally leaned it against the pool and ripped a bit but we were able to fix it with flex tape.
The pool is very sturdy, which is reassuring. However, this specific size I guess does not come with a cover, which was a bit disappointing. I bought a skimmer separately to keep the pool clean, but I noticed the pump isn't very strong. I might need to replace it soon for more efficient filtration.
So far, we've had no significant issues with the pool. It’s holding up well, but only time will tell how durable it will be in the long run. Overall, it’s a great buy for the price and perfect for family fun during the summer!
Pump a little difficult but not terrible.
Over all Dope!
Bought the 10ft x 30in pool for the kiddos and it will easily allow my 5 young kids to have a great time.
About to fill it and will update on sturdiness.
Would have paid extra if it included: pool cover, ladder, and cleaning tools. #justsayin’
But if you’re going to get this pool you might as well slap those things on your list.
It was gray and had too many instructions exposed for my taste so I gave the kiddos the run down and spruced it up a bit. I would have paid extra for a different backdrop. #stilljustsayin’
Putting it together was a struggle at first, but I didn’t let it warm in the sun. So be sure you do that step first!! Also the last joint, slant the joint and the pole up then push both pieces towards the inside and bam!
We had the C1000 intex pump from last year that I used instead of the one it came with. It has done its job so far!!
I am pleased ,so far, and this is a definite upgrade from the sam’s club 10ft inflatable pool we had last year.
P.S. this is making my teen girls very happy!
Make sure you buy the sand filter and skimmer !!

-First, make sure you know this pools depth. It's very shallow! I like to sit in it and read a book!
-Our 7yo is autistic and they tend to obsessed with water. If he manages to sneak out to swim, it's easy for him to just stand up. He has also been told that he must wear a vest to swim, so double the safety!
- it's easier to warm a shallow pool. We live in Central NY. If it's a sunny day, the pool is usually between 70° and 75°. If it's super hot outside, the water can get over 80°!
-this pool was very easy to set up! My husband and I put it together in half an hour. The hardest part is getting it level. We had a pool here a few years ago, so that part was fairly easy for us.
I bought this pool in early June. I think I forgot to prime the pump and it stopped working. It was too late to use the 30 day warranty, so I reached out to them directly. They were amazing! Got a replacement pump within a week
Highly recommend!
First off, assembly was an adventure that rivals solving a Rubik's Cube blindfolded. But fear not, fellow pool enthusiasts, because once I wrangled those metal frames into place, it was like I'd achieved a PhD in pool construction. The kids were cheering, the dog was doing tricks – it was a circus, I tell you!
Now, let's talk about the size – it's like a water kingdom that's been miniaturized for my backyard. It's big enough to make a splash (literally) and small enough to not require a lifeguard certification. The best part? No more fighting for elbow room in crowded public pools. It's like I've got my own aquatic paradise!
But wait, there's more – the Prism Frame Round technology is like having the iPhone of pools. It's sturdy, durable, and feels like it was crafted by pool wizards. I half expect it to start granting wishes (like endless summer vibes, please).
Oh, and the water? It's like diving into a giant glass of refreshing bliss. My kids are convinced it's the fountain of youth, and I'm not about to correct them. I've even caught myself humming sea shanties while floating – I blame the pool's magical aura.
In conclusion, the Intex 26711EH 12 Foot x 30 Inch Prism Frame Round Above Ground Outdoor Backyard Swimming Pool is like the best backyard decision I've ever made. It's like a vacation that's just a few steps away, and the joy it brings is immeasurable. So, if you're ready to make your backyard the ultimate summer hotspot, grab your sunscreen and prepare for a splash-tastic time!
It was so easy to put together and made well. It came with a link to an instructional video and I watched a few on YouTube as well.
I did purchase a felt liner for the ground and patio pavers for the braces, only to add longevity to the life of the pool. The Seller is great!!! This pool has a 2022 production date and I purchased it in May 2023.
So this is a new item, not one that has been shelved for a few years. I hope you enjoy this pool as much as we have and will for the rest of the season and many more to come. Definitely, worth the money and this Seller's price was lower than all of the box stores I checked.
The pool is great so far and pretty easy to setup, just find a pump and filter that has no timer or has a 24/7 option on it!
Update - I was able to clear up our water. We are on our own well with heavy iron so that was likely the biggest issue. If you want a pump that runs constantly, just know that it won't. It does run 10 hours turns off and turns itself back on for 10 more hours. Not sure if it's on and off every 10 hours or on a 24 hr cycle where it runs for 10 hours the same time each day, I think the latter based off my understanding of the instructions.
After multiple filters and shocking the pool a couple of times we were able to resolve and we absolutely love this pool. Only challenge is finding a ladder that works well with this size.
The pool was easy to put together (having an extra body to help is definitely a plus), and the complete set-up was quick. We have hit a little snag where the chemicals are concerned, but using testing strips makes it less complicated and we're hoping to be swimming by tomorrow.. making this a 2 day process from opening the box to splashing in the refreshing and cool water!!
Honestly the pool is strong enough it may have been fine, and that was my fault. On the other hand this pool does have a weakness, and that is the pump. It has barely any water flow, and it took a lot off effort just to get the air out of the tube as it flowing fast enough to move the air out. Even after that I still had to let air of the pump every day for about 3 days before it finally ran smoothly. (I wonder if peoples pumps failing after 4 days is due to them to not re-checking the prime and basically running air in the pump without knowing).
Overall It is worth the price, and I will probably by a bigger version of this in the future once my kids are bigger (although I may by a stronger pump as I don't really trust the included pumps).
The tarp was impressive but It did finally give way in a windstorm and tore on something. I purchased another Intex cover only the 16 foot round so we had more to work with and strap down. We came up with the perfect solution for windy areas such as ours... Cargo straps that you use in trucks with the rachet tightening mechanism! We used 3 to connect together.
This pool is so sturdy, our yard was newly finished and the ground ended up settling more beneath the weight making the pool less level which made us nervous but it hasn’t phased it in the slightest!! We kind of figured it would only last us the season but now that it’s stood the test of time and children (up to 8 at a time for a party, ages 5-10) we need to figure out where we’re going to store it. Hahah
Our only complaint, is the little white plastic guards that go over the ends of the screws on the ladder fall off easily! My son took about an inch of deep flesh off of his under arm with an unprotected screw on the ladder, shredding his flesh. It was gruesome. I make sure to tighten them about every use and the kids are more cautious.
It’s really quite big for a starter pool. It was well worth the money and though it was a learning curve we were successful in keeping the water treated with Food grade 35% peroxide and baking soda. Pools are work!!! But it was enjoyable knowing you have a sparkling pool to refresh in afterwards
Here's what I did. Clear and level the area you want to put it. Put a high quality, thick weed barrier sheet and tarp down. It should extend at least 6 inches out past the pool footprint, all the way around. You really need to keep the weeds away. On top of that barrier, connect some thick foam floor pieces (the puzzle piece ones for playrooms). Again, extend it outside the pool footprint. Duct tape those foam pieces together. Lay a pool footprint pad on top of that and then set up the pool.
I surrounded my pool with 2 cubic yards of beach sand to have a nice little beach around it. Keep a foot bath right in front of the step stool to wash sand off feet before entering. I didn't want to spend $230 on the ladder, so i bought a heavy-duty plastic fold-out step stool, the one that is a little taller than standard.
Buy a few bags of pool chemicals and test strips and check the water at least every few days, ideally every day. Use a skimmer morning and evening to keep debris out. Use the floor vacuum at least twice per week. Take the filter cartridge out and spray clean with a hose every couple of days. Do not be lax with the water care. If it gets too messed up, you will have to drain the entire pool and start over.
Read up on cya build-up and how to prevent it. Study stabilized vs non-stabilized chlorine. Do not make the mistake of thinking small pools can skip all of the water chemistry.
4/2020 1st purchase - This was definitely a project only because of the leveling and grass that grew through the base and tarp. After getting through that hump it has been a great pool for our needs of wanting a wading pool. Adults can sit or float just fine and kids play with water toys but I’m cautious with rough play because I refuse to reconstruct after 2 rounds lol. Super easy to construct, leveling is the back breaker. Use extra thick matting or double up to avoid my experience! Also contact your water company to report gallons filled so you’re not charged in waste water. I had 2 fills of 1700 each and my city just increased billing last year so it helped.
That said, be sure to stock up on the replacement cartridges to swap out every 2 weeks or so. We got the matching pool cover, I recommend that too to help keep out debris. Definitely make sure you have enough level ground. Ours is off maybe 1-2" and its not bad but I can see how it could be a problem if it was more. We put a tarp underneath.. to protect the pool from our stone patio. So far so good. We also got a basic net to keep out debris, a pool test kit to check levels are safe, and the chlorine tablets in one of those floaters.... so far its all worth it. We've had it up for about a month now our 3 little girls love it (8, 6, 5). And so do I. Adults... yes get a blow up raft/lounger and relax by yourself when the kids leave! I highly recommend! Especially for families spending more time at home these days.
Flat surface is a must, mine is off by 1-1 1/2 inches and it’s not a huge deal. More so just bugs me.
additional pool supplies are essential ie. chemicals, additional filters, skimmer, brush, vacuum, etc.
A lot of people have mentioned a higher end pump. I did not do this but I will upgrade it next year. The one that came with it is actually fine IF you changed the filter constantly. However, it’s not powerful enough to vacuum.
I recommend with any additional products purchased to purchase INTEX as they are the most compatible unless you are good at jimmi rigging things...I’m not.
I love the size, great for my two young kids. I can lay on a float in it.
A ladder would be helpful but not a necessity...we just got a step stool from Ikea.
Easy to set up with two people, took about an hour.
Will disassemble for the winter and out back up next year.
Great Value but you do need to spend additional money on tools and chemicals
That said, I've learned a trick that works pretty well to both extend the life of the filters and make the skimmer somewhat effective. If you cap one of the two pump outlets and attach a skimmer to the other, stretch a skimmer sock (available on Amazon) over the floating blue skimmer insert, then hang it at an angle so that most of the sock is underwater, it does a pretty good job of collecting surface debris. This has also made my pump filters last much longer (it's been more than 2 weeks since I added the skimmer/sock setup and haven't had to even rinse the filter yet). You do have to rinse the skimmer sock off every day or so (I just lift it out and hose it off), but that's way easier than cleaning the filters.
Also, I've dealt with a nasty algae bloom after the chlorine levels fell too far while we were out of town and it's a pain to recover from (you can see some remaining in my picture), so don't slack on your chlorine tablets/tests! I find that keeping a couple 1" tablets in the floater (sold separately) at all times is about right, but your mileage may vary so I definitely recommend getting a chlorine/ph test kit. It's way easier to prevent than remove algae, though if you do end up in this situation, adding a cup or two of bleach every day until the algae clears seems to work as a poor-man's "shock" (just be sure to wait to swim until the chlorine levels fall back into a safe range). Or, drain it, scrub it out good, and start over, though obviously you don't want to do this too often.
So the pool is great. 30" deep, perfect for just sitting. I had a small camping table I put next to it. I got an HB Illumination speaker to pair to my phone. It's meant to float but the sound sucks when it's in the water. I added the Coleman 15x13 screened tent canopy a few days later. It fits perfectly. Enough room to cover the camping table and pump as well as enclose the little step stool ladder I have. The Coleman tent is easy to assemble - but MAKE SURE THE POLES ARE ON THE OUTSIDE! I read that review earlier and brain dumped it. Then I was cursing the existence of humanity when I got to the last pole and couldn't get it to snap into place. Yea - poles on the outside, poles on the outside...poles on the outside. It has two zipper entrances and like I said - it covers the pool perfectly. Keeps the bugs out. Get a camping LED light/lantern that emits the yellow/bug blind light and you're set to spend your warm summer evenings sitting in a pool, listening to crickets and frogs (or in my city case - traffic), and just relax the stress away.
So unless I modify this review - I strongly suggest anyone considering this pool or the Coleman screen tent to buy. Good purchases.
