Highly recommend!
Best purchase I've made all year long.
I do take the rollers out every other time and clean the edges of the rollers. They get hair build up and wrapped around them. We have long hair so it’s understandable and super easy to clean. Keep it clean and it will last and change your cleaning life. I’m super happy.
Just be careful to keep small items off the floor: it sucked up my socks once and displayed an error.
My cat is still a bit cautious and hasn't fully warmed up to our new helper yet, but I'm confident they'll become friends soon. Highly recommend!
My home seems to be taken over by robotic devices 😂
But this? This is incredible! I work long hours and hate coming home to dirty floors.
This device has proven to be an absolute beast! No more cat hair balls, no more pine needles.
It was a slight pain to connect to the app, but once I got it, everything was a breeze from there. App controls everything.
The vacuum mapped out my home and was able to start cleaning from there, even got under my kids bed.
Goes right back to the charging dock and empties out the waste bin.
Excited to try the mop feature next!
I highly recommend doing the smart mapping without cleaning first, and making sure all wires and loose objects are picked up. I used table legs and command hooks to ensure cables wouldn't fall back down to get in the way. I rarely have an issue and if I do its usually because I leave my shoes on the ground and it sucks up the laces, but there is no real tangling issue it just pulls right out.
On a side note, the mop function is good if you change the pad in each room. I suggest buying a multi pack of pads and some extra bags with your purchase.
Would and have suggested to friends
This thing was super easy to set up, it mapped the house and I easily figured put how to block off certain areas. The app is very user friendly. A senior citizen shouldn't have trouble at all.
It's scheduled 2x a week but I think it could hold up to daily cleaning.
A little loud when it empties but that is short. There are a few crumbs that it may miss but it's enough of a difference that I feel it was worth the price. I got it on a "deal" for $299 and used cc points so for $200 out of pocket, I gave 5 stars!
The route logic and the Lidar are absolutely amazing. My Q5 cleans the first floor of my house at 3 AM every day, and docks and empties the dust bin after lunch since I have scheduled it to clean up after lunch each day. It's a zero-maintenance system until the bag fills up, which looks like it will be at least two months from now since we have almost no dust in the house. It does find some, though, and since we have no pets, it is probably less than 1 or 2 grams of dust per day.
I bought another one on their site just now for the 2nd floor. They can also work together if needed by assigning them to various rooms in your house to cut the time in half.
Noise is minimal, and the system knows when not to use to auto-empty the dust bin from 10 pm to 6 am so nobody hears anything.
I made several wrong assumptions about the progress since I already had owned a Roomba over 20 years ago, and overall am extremely impressed with what they have done since. (yes, I know they are different companies).
When I checked on YouTube for a really good robot vacuum I came across this one (and others as well) and on a rating of S (being the best ever) to D (being the worst) this one stood on the A tier list which I immediately checked because of the price range which is affordable!
There are some pros and cons on it as well but don't be alarmed, this product/company is still young and will/is trying their best to improve on their product! Mines had a slight malfunction with the turbo fan and with the support of the company I was able to resolve the issue and it's now working 100% so don't be alarmed if something goes wrong! Could be that the issue is actually really simple and easy to fix!
I will continue to use mine to maintain a clean floor all the time every time! 😉
Pros:
- Lidar mapping
- A battery that will allow it to traverse my home many times over
- improved rollers that haven't gotten tangled up with hair
- App support that allows me to start a clean cycle while I'm away
Cons:
- Self cleaning cycle is very loud and the bags are expensive (but you can purchase after market ones)
- Mopping feature is really just dripping water on the floor and wiping it with the vacuums butt, kinda works though
Well from out of the box the setup and connection to the network was a breeze. The mapping I'm still not sure how it was able to map the house, rooms etc so accurately, almost scary. lol. But it vacuums nicely and when you add the added feature of mopping to it it keeps the floors nice and smooth. You immediately see the impact of using this vacuum. It's our first robo vac of any type so I really can't compare it to others or other brands, but I did check out some reviews about this before buying it and the positive reviews speaks well of it. It does its job and does it well.
The only thing was when I wanted to share the device with my wife was a bit confusing as tried sharing the device before fulling setting up the app on her phone. So make sure who you are sharing with they have the app set up properly on their phone.
It mapped out on the porch too even without being out there. Just have to retweak a few rooms but nothing too hard. Plus adding in schedules of what to clean and when is also wicked.
Other than that, this is one of the best devices we've bought in a while. And my wife was like make sure you write a review and let people know how good this is, so I got some extra points lol lol
Seriously though if you're looking for a robot vacuum that will clean and mop your house well and is quite easy to set up and operate this is your vac
Highly recommend this product
What I like about this: The price, the design and functionality of the machine. It was very easy to set up and doesn’t feel like a cheap machine. You can tell Roborock puts a lot of thought into the small details. Once set up, it took about 5 minutes to map out about 1250 sq ft of my main level floor. The app is very easy to use and you can divide the rooms. It also automatically set up a “Do not disturb” where it doesn’t empty the bin late at night. I love this feature! The dustbin holds a lot so it doesn’t have to go back to the charging base to empty often. Only con is it does not have object avoidance. I do keep
my floors pretty clutter free with the exception of dogs getting their toys out, so this wasn’t a dealbreaker for me. I also love that it has several suction modes including Max+ and quiet mode. Quiet
mode is perfect when you’re watching tv but want to run the vacuum!
With the price point being less, I was able to buy this and the Dyad Air vacuum mop for $540 out the door. These two machines both hook up to the app and I know that they will keep my floors in great. I would highly suggest this robot vacuum and for you to check out the Dyad Air vacuum mop! That thing is a beast too!
The setup and operation are incredibly simple, and the device mapped my entire house with remarkable precision. I could easily divide the rooms into specific cleaning zones based on my preferences, which makes cleaning more efficient and convenient.
One feature I particularly love is the mopping function. It not only vacuums but also mops, leaving my floors spotless and shiny. The water tank is easy to fill, and the mopping pads are simple to attach and clean.
The smart navigation is another standout feature. I’m impressed by how accurately the robot knows where it is, thanks to its advanced technology. My previous robot would move aimlessly, stopping only when it hit something, often leaving small areas untouched, which was frustrating. Now, every corner gets cleaned thoroughly, and my home feels cleaner than ever!
I also appreciate the customizable routines, which allow me to schedule frequent cleaning for high-traffic areas and less for others—perfect for my needs.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with this product! Nice design and advanced technology!
One thing I really like is that it’s not super loud. You can definitely hear it working, but it’s not annoying—I’ve even had it running while watching TV. The scheduling feature is awesome, too. I usually set it to run while I’m out, and it’s great coming home to clean floors. Sometimes it misses a spot or two, especially in tight corners or under low furniture, so I do a quick manual cleanup here and there.
Overall, it’s been a huge help with keeping things tidy. It’s not perfect, but it saves me a ton of time and effort, which is all I really wanted. If you’re busy and hate sweeping, it’s definitely worth checking out!
This thing is worth every penny.
End of January 2025 update
Original review: I’ve owned 3 Neato brand robot vacuums. Finally abandoned them because their voice announcements can’t be turned down or off and they wake me up talking outside my bedroom door. Tried a shark brand self emptying and hated it. Their customer service was horrible. The vacuum refused to clean anything other than going around of the edge of the floor and declaring the cleaning complete. Returned it to Amazon and appreciate Amazon’s return policy. Turned around and bought this RoboRock based on reviews and absolutely love it. Been running it daily because we have a shedding dog. It cleans better than any of the robot vacuums I have owned. It cleans thoroughly and methodically. It supports multiple maps and allows users to change volume or silence its verbal status reports. It automatically senses whether it’s vacuuming carpet or hard surfaces and adjusts its function for the type of floor. Love its self emptying features and disposable bags. Highly recommended!!!
This one was on sale on Cyber Monday and I’m so glad I took advantage! It maps the whole house and you can add invisible walls and no-go zones so it doesn’t tumble down the stairs or get caught in high-pile rugs. It cleans on demand or you can schedule it. I can clean individual rooms. The suction is great and picks up just about anything. It’s a tad bit noisy, but I don’t care - I just let it run in the background in the room I’m not in.
Highl, highly recommend!!
Suction power is only half of the higher end version, but still more than enough for regular use such as dirt, debris, and pet hair
Auto-empty dock is convenient and make it almost completely automatic and hand free.
But still, you need to regularly check the dust bin, and today I found my spouse’s ring in it, and since it is heavier than dust, auto-empty did not suck it out. In this case, it is a good thing.
navigation is almost as powerful as the higher end version, but without camera.
Dust bag is big, but seems to be different size compared to my other roborock, this is less ideal that I’ll have to buy two types of dust bags.
Over all love the brand and product as always.
I’m continually impressed by how efficient and reliable my robot cleaner is. It handles daily cleaning tasks with precision, leaving my floors spotless and my carpets refreshed. Its ability to navigate around furniture and reach tricky corners is remarkable. Even when faced with tough messes like pet hair or spilled crumbs, it tackles them effortlessly.
I appreciate its consistency and dedication—always showing up on schedule and performing flawlessly. It’s like having a personal cleaning assistant who never complains or takes a day off. Watching it work with such focus and efficiency makes me realize how much time and effort it saves me.
Beyond its functionality, I admire its smart features, from path optimization to automatic recharging. It’s truly a marvel of modern technology. My home has never been cleaner, and I’m grateful for the convenience and peace of mind it brings. Thank you for being such a reliable cleaning partner!
Setting up using the attached sheet is easy. I would suggest you wait for a full charge and then finish the rest of the setup. Mapping is decently accurate and you can customize the map so it doesn’t clean the areas you want it to clean. It supports multiple levels, the only manual step you have to do is to carry it to the desired area and when it is done, put it back to the level where the dock is and hit “Go Home” button.
Here are the best features I am really impressed.
First of all, it is smart, it clean the whole area in a logical way, for example, it start with the edges and then clean big chunks of area back and forth like mowing the lawn. It knows the difference between permanent obstacles ( such as furniture leg, stair) vs temporary obstacles( shoes, toys )
Second of all, it is able to clean the surface very well. Very strong suction power and feel stronger than my Dyson. Vacuum and mopping in one pass greatly reduce dust, particles on the floor and air quality in the house improved because of that.
Third of all, it supports multiple ways of control and wherever and whenever. You could schedule it, voice control in your own language, or even when you are on a trip.
I would highly recommend everyone to this product, you won’t regret.
The navigation is smooth and precise, and it doesn’t get stuck around furniture. The auto-empty dock is a total game-changer – no more frequent bin-emptying! The app is super user-friendly, letting us schedule cleanings and set no-go zones effortlessly.
Overall, this robot vacuum is a fantastic upgrade. It’s reliable, efficient, and very cost-effective for what it delivers. Highly recommend!
The app is also very smart—it allows you to monitor the machine’s status in real-time, select specific rooms or zones to clean, and even change the language.
I would give it a 10/10 and highly recommend it!
This Q5 Pro+ is smarter and has better coverage on the floor surface without missing a spot, when compared to Roomba 960, as it has LiDAR. It can accurately navigate navigate and get around obstacles and make its way back to the base. It took only 26 minutes to map and vacuum on the first attempt as my apartment is relatively small. Once the map is established, you can also setup no-go zones in the app without using infrared devices to create virtual wall.
It’s reliable, does a great job on hardwood floor and is easy to maintain. I highly recommend this vacuum!
It can’t digest something the size of a cigarette…but it can eat dog food
The vacuum is super powerful, working even on my 2.5 inch high pile shag rug. The spinning side brush would sometimes get stuck in the high pile rug, so I wrapped the rubber in a little tape and it has worked like a charm. I've had a lot of issues with past vacuums getting hair tangled and losing suction after a while, but the dual roller design of this robovac is so effective at making sure the hair actually goes into the dust bin vs. getting rolled up on the sides of the roller itself. I've been running this for a week and there's zero hair stuck. Also, the vacuum even operates at full suction still even when the dust bin is nearly full.
Plus, this thing is SMART – the lidar on top does a great job of scanning out the layout of the space, and as someone who loves tech/smart home gadgets, I love that I can monitor the robovac remotely, activate/return it to home when on the go, check on cleaning progress, etc. I also love that it automatically detects thicker carpet and maxes out on the suction power. Plus, it even lets you choose which direction to vacuum in lines to make sure it doesn't go against the grain of hardwood floors and to avoid scratches. AMAZING!
I would 10/10 recommend this for anyone – it's been so delightful having it run while I'm at work and come home everyday to a spotless floor. love it!!
But this one. THIS ONE. Finally, a robot vacuum that isn't always asking for my help. It does a great job cleaning, doesn't get stuck under kitchen cabinets or couches or anywhere. It also doesn't ram into stuff like some robot vacs; its sensors do a good job of making it slow down before it bashes into a cabinet or wall. Good battery life—easily cleans my whole house on one charge. Finally, a robovac I love!
I have two shedding herding dogs who spend a lot of times in the woods daily and two toddlers - the floors are dirty, it’s the way it is. This thing keeps the house livable and takes a lot of work out. I thought I should’ve bought this sooner but at the same time the technology and price point wouldn’t have been where it’s at.
Setup is easy, the learned map is awesome and I can customize the layout and specify rooms to clean. Honestly I recommend 10/10 if you’re on the fence. Especially at the sale price.
Sure it doesn’t do as good as the ole’ Hoover on the carpet but it also gets under most the furniture and doesn’t miss a square inch. And does just as good on the wood floor. Also it’s quieter than I thought it’d be. The mopping feature is nice - what I’ve done is spray additional cleaner down on the floor before it does that room. Only gripe is the water flow isn’t enough but it does make a difference.
Thank you! You’ve given me time back in my day and my house is cleaner on daily basis.
Things to note. Yes, it has the mop, but it's basically the old mopping system that was on the S5 and S6. If you are buying one of those to do that, save up your money and get the newer S8 or other models that have the newer mopping features. I did not buy this for the mop, and I am not even putting the mop on it.
It does not have a camera; it's just Lidar. Hence the lower price. Again, if you want better avoidance, save your money and get the newest models.
Basically, don't expect the top-of-the-line features on this model. It does what it does well, but it lacks the newer features.
Also, it's 2.4 on the WiFi, so make sure your wifi system can connect to it.
The Q5 Pro + has 5,500 suction dual rollers and an auto-empty dock. I love the auto-empty dock; it was a game-changer for me with the S8. I only have to check the bag every few weeks, clean sensors, and check the rollers, so it's much nicer than emptying after every cleaning. The dust bin is nice and big—bigger than the S8, which is nice. I have had little to no issues with the auto-empty dock. I have 3 cats, and the only thing that has caused any issues is when the robot will suck up a cat toy, and it's too big to go into the bag. The cat hair has not clogged it at all. It is well-designed. Nosie-wise, it's also quieter than my S8 when cleaning.
If you are looking for a less expensive Roborock, don't need the mopping feature, and want the auto-empty dock, this is a great option. With the prime-day sales, it's a no-brainer.
I would say it is quiet while in motion … when it docks and empties it is loud … I wouldn’t run it over night because I think the emptying process would wake me up. It only took about 40 minutes to run through my first floor (about 600 sf) so running during the day will not be an issue for me.
This is awesome, it picks more things, like pet fur, than our roombas ever did. We've had five roombas over the years, as time went on they impressed me less and less, but they were the only name I'm the game. We recently had two roombas, one dow. Stairs and one upstairs. The downstairs roomba needed many repairs and I was done with spending a few hundred in parts and then having to do the repairs.
This was on sale and it provides not only carpet cleaning, but flooring mopping and it cleans itself out. The home mapping system is unbelievable, it built a very accurate map after only running twice!
The closest roomba equivalent would cost almost 4 times as much!
So far, this is a great cleaner and if this setup keeps this up, I will be extremely happy.
It is so quiet, my wife got spooked when it bumped her during a Zoom work meeting, lol.
Only complaints:
The Mop feature isn't amazing, this is not a huge surprise given the way it is advertised. The only other minor thing is this robo does struggle a little with ramped furniture legs - it doesn't get stuck but it seems to waste time trying to hopelessly get on top of a furniture leg it can't actually vacuum.
I had my own issues with the Roomba (and the girlfried but that's a different review.) I didn't like for example how the unit had the entire house mapped out, yet couldn't reserve enough battery to tell you where it got stuck at - either via chime or through the app. And BOY DID IT get stuck all the time. Carpets, laces, invisible walls that it ignored - the Roomba just did whatever it wanted.
This Roborok however - is a different animal entirely. I have hardwood floors in conjunction with carpet, and it cleans the heck out of both of them methodically. It RARELY gets stuck, it respects invisible wall settings set through the app (rather than some dumb piece of plastic you place around your house.)
I am thrilled that I'm able to set different suction modes depending on the location of the house, the type of surface etc. I LOVE that it can work in low light situations!
Truth be told, I did not purchase this for the mopping feature, as I can mop faster and more efficiently in my small apartment compared to this device. I've kept the parts however and in the end may try it, but I purchased this model for its superior vaccumming functions.
I am more than satisfied with the Roborok Q5 Pro+, even if the name is a bit ridiculous. I recommend finding zippered dustbin bags as they last longer and will keep the costs down.
Also, MAINTAIN your robots! It's quick and easy and will ensure the longevity of your Roborok.
This one sailed over the thresholds with ease and has avoided, cables on the floor and cat food bowls etc. so a better product at a lower price. I did have some issues with set up on my iPhone but I was informed that you had to turn of cellular data while you were pairing the machine to the app. since then it's worked perfectly.
It arrived quickly and packaged well. When I say well, I mean it. I think, in total, it was 3 different boxes I had to open to finally see, what I hoped to be, a long term cleaning buddy. Once I got it removed from its container, I found it a home. I downloaded the app, paired to wifi, got everything set up and connected it to our Alexa. It was simple and flawless. I then let it do its mapping. We are only using it on the main floor so it won't be used elsewhere as the only other area is a basement (underground) and it's not finished. I figured it was going to take a while so I headed downstairs to start some laundry and put some stuff away. Imagine my surprise when my Apple Watch alerted me to the fact that 15 minutes in, it was done. What?? My last one took almost 2 hours to map the 970 square feet that is our main living area. I went back upstairs and stared at it, baffled. Looking at my phone with the open app, I set up a schedule for cleaning and went about the rest of my day.
That evening (I have it set up for 5:30pm) I heard a strange voice and almost jumped out of my chair. Our dog barked, the cats scattered. Feeling panicked because I am home alone at the moment, I clutched my chest and peered around the corner. It was just the vacuum telling me it was starting to clean. I let out a breath. I hadn't expected that. My last one only talked when she was telling me why she couldn't vacuum, which in the end, was every time she turned on. I watched carefully. It went around the outer edge of the entire house, hitting every room, then came back and went back and forth until it was satisfied it had covered every spot. Then it told me it was done and was going back home. Huh.
After using it for a few days, I checked the bag. Wow! It definitely picked up more than our last one did. I could have made a whole new dog with what was in there. I don't love that it isn't bagless though but I can deal with that. The app is easy to use but unlike our last one, you can't name the cleaner. Gimmicky, but I kinda liked being able to do that. Not a huge deal because cleaning wise, it's amazing. I still can't get over how much hair it picked up. I showed my husband and he was impressed. Well, after first wondering why I was showing him a pile of our dogs hair.
It's pretty quiet when vacuuming but when it empties, you can definitely hear it. That doesn't last long though so not something that bothers anyone. I guess it also mops but I honestly have zero intention of using that. We only have one area in our house that has waterproof flooring so I prefer to do that myself. I get why this brand is highly rated. I love it already but because my heart was broken by another, I'm still feeling nervous. I can't help it. The last one let me down and I'm really hoping for longevity this time around. My fingers are crossed.....
(Still have to use a lint roller on my clothes but she’s worth it!)
Never had any connectivity problems to our network, easy to set up schedules (5) , quiet, and flexible. Easy to maintain too. Based on where it is during operation, it will Deep clean where needed..( hallway rugs), then go back to regular mode. We havent used the micro pad "wet cleaning mop" and at this juncture probably never will. Just keep the sensors clean and inspect the beater brushes once in a while.
Its a robust product. Easy to replace the dust bag. It will adjust its cleaning 'path' if you move any furniture , remembers the next time it cleans.
Follow the instructions given. Read all info first b4 you 'fire it up".
Unlike my Shark Matrix that I bought 2 months ago and is now headed for the dump.
I have had this vacuum for a couple of months now. It is my 3rd robot vacuum - one iRobot and one other generic brand - and it by far works the best of the three. We have a golden retriever in the house so daily vacuuming is pretty essential and I need something that I don't have to babysit like my other two that were always managing to get themselves stuck or snagging a wire or something. After getting everything configured right, this seems to be working pretty well. I do a deep clean with higher suction power at least once a week (which does take a battery recharge break) and a basic clean every day which does not need a battery recharge. (Roughly 1800 square feet, probably two thirds vinyl and one third shallow carpet) and it runs without needing me to come save it and doesn't take much prep other than picking up throw rugs and dog toys. But getting it configured is harder than it should have been.
First, getting it connected to wifi through the app. It kept hanging at the first step. A quick web search let me know to turn off cellular data on my phone and then it worked with no issue. If that is going to affect pretty much everyone on an iPhone, it would be pretty useful for the app to tell you instead of making you go search and it does not even show up in the troubleshooting steps in the app as a reason. Secondly, one of the major reasons I got this was the auto emptying. The first couple uses, I had a big wad of Golden Retriever hair in the dustbin that I had to manually empty. I then found the setting for Auto-Empty settings and switched it to Max. It has worked fine since. It is louder but the bin is empty. It also left some debris on the floor during its first use. Switched to a higher suction and it picked it up. (Small plastic piece from a tag that was on the vinyl floor - nothing sticky or hard to pick up). So I think the default settings are weaker than what most people actually need based on my small sample size.
Also the documentation is pretty terrible. Figuring out how to get this thing to work as a mop has been a bit of trial and error. The documentation got me part of the way there, but it is generally useless. And one super useful bit of information would have been really nice - what goes into the water container. Roborock does make a cleaning solution. Some math and testing results in the container holds roughly 6 ounces of water. The dilution ratio on the cleaner is 1 to 300. That equals 1/8 of a teaspoon of a cleaner when you fill that tank with water. I also have to put the thing on its lfastest empty setting to have enough hitting the floor to make a difference.
Lastly, the Alexa integration is horrible. The Roborock skill woth this particular model may be the most useless skill I have ever tried and that is saying something. You can not fire off a specific routine (like "Alexa, tell roborock to vacuum kitchen") The only thing that works is Alexa recognizes it as a smart device independent of the skill and you can turn it on or off (Alexa, Start Roborock) and it will run the default routine. I really have ended up using the app most of the time.
So in summary - the vacuum itself is 5 stars. Easy maintenance, works well and runs well. The app (after you're done with the setup) would be 4 stars - editing maps and so on could be a bit easier but overall it works well. The mopping is two stars. It basically works but is a lot of extra effort to get working, poorly documented and is basically like wiping your floor with a cloth and no pressure. It reduces my mopping need a little, but not much. The configuration is two stars - harder than it should have been. And the integration is one star and really should be zero since it doesn't work at all. But I left my overall score as a 4 star because the ongoing use of it as a robot vacuum really is useful, doesn't require me to babysit or intervene often (maybe twice it has got caught on a wire or strap). It's the other areas that really need help so if those are your primary concerns, I would look elsewhere. If you want a robot vacuum that will work when you are not babysitting it and do a good job on your floors, I've been really pleased with it and would recommend it.
So if you want a vacuum that works well after some configuring (Set Auto-Empty Settings to Max and build at least one cleaning routine with Max suction turned on), I would highly recommend it. If the Alexa integration instead if using the app is a big deal or you don't like to tinker with configuration, then you will probably find this one frustrating.
I'll come back and update this after a month or so of daily usage so this is built on more than initial impressions but overall, this seems to have done the trick for me (two pets, two reasonably clean adults, no kids in house).
This is part of our basement which is generally dark with zero lights on; the iRobot S9 would normally give up as it requires some amount of light to perform its job; Roborock Q5 Pro+ will happily start and run in pitch black which affords us the flexibility to run in off hours when the family has gone to bed.
