It's a great gift item. A far cry from our Lego sets from many years ago that were all up to our imagination. There's something to be said for those. It forced us to be more creative.
But....these are pretty fantastic.
.
I can’t understate how great a value this is. 2,700 pieces with very little repetition. And an exclusive minifig in the style of the “golden statue” figures from the kids’ sets. If LEGO made more sets like this for Hogsmeade or Grimmauld Place, I’d buy them in an instant. Or other IPs like Lord of the Rings.
As for the reviewers with missing pieces- first, I’ve built over 200 LEGO models in the last few years and never had a missing piece. I’ve had some scares but it’s always still in the bag (usually wedged into a corner) or on the floor. There are a lot of people who immediately jump to blaming LEGO and not their own lack of thoroughness. So, take those complaints with a grain of salt. Second, LEGO does not hesitate to send you replacement parts, free of charge.
