Is super good with everyday cleaning (lots of dust and simple stains) but don’t expect it to clean really tough stains.
Waking up to mopped floors that I didn't have to do is one of the best gifts ever. Just empty the dirty water and refill the clean. Ready for round 2.
#indeedaDREAME
A person can clean.
Also loved to see real time sweep and mop using its own camera
Cleans and disposes itself and great at capacity and less noise. I dnt have to clean the mops bcz this cleans and dries it off before I wake up
Two bags for the dust, drit and dust bunny collector. When they say smart robot vacuum ... They mean it with this, it even tells you if the mop pad or brush has issues .
The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the wifi set up. This smart robot vac works only with 2.4 frequency so you may need to set up a separate connection on your router
Happy buying 😁
After reading my review Dreame reached out and decided to cover the repair. I was very happy about that as I never misused the unit. Thank you Dreame you made me a believer again. Creat recovery customer service! Thank you Betty.
It’s also beautiful and functions Amazing.
This honestly cleans my floors better than me. I like that it rarely gets stuck, seems like towels on the floor are it's weakness, sometimes it also gets stuck between the toilet and the wall, so I just put no-go zones there.
I highly recommend familiarizing yourself with all of the settings and the user manual. This can really help you optimize how it cleans your space. Seems like a lot of the complaints related to cleaning can be fixed with a button.
I think my only minor complaint is the app itself could use some optimization, it feels sluggish sometimes and the settings/layout can be a bit more organized. A faster video feed would be cool too. More customization and tweaking would be cool too. Basically dreame should just copy roborocks app at this point 👍👍
I've also been very pleased with their Customer support as well. Keep up the good work Dreame Teame!
Here's why:
Setup was super easy, and my partner and little one loves the app. It's super intuitive and you can control it really easy. Suction is amazing, and the mopping feature works great without over-wetting the floors.
We run it in our 5,000 sq. ft. home once a week and high-traffic areas every other day—it handles both carpets and hard floors effortlessly! It maps rooms flawlessly, rarely gets stuck, and the camera is incredible.
Pros:
Powerful suction & great mopping
Excellent navigation & app control
Long battery life & auto-docks easily
Quieter than most robot vacuums
Cons:
Struggles occasionally with high-pile carpets
Needs an additional compartment to cut tangled hair (or manual trimming for long hair)
Regardless, we highly recommend this! Grab it now! It's on sale!
I love that I can set schedules, especially vacuuming and mopping my kitchen every night after it’s shut down for the night. It’s really a great product aside from that and I’m happy with my purchase.
It does a decent job at vacuuming and can identify many obstacles. The base station has a bagged storage for waste and also dirty and clean water reservoirs.
The hardest thing about the vacuum is that the app used to identify rooms is painful to use, you can't just utilize a shade out area to show the room and define it, you have to use a division line that has a minimum length and doesn't always work, so you can't just add a doorway and separate the rooms you have to fight the app talking dozens of attempts and it tends to bleed rooms making assumptions. Once a home us set up though and you have the rooms configured how you want it's fairly easy to use.
The ability to schedule cleaning and/or mopping tasks defining rooms etc to clean and on a room. By room Basis for mopping and/or vacuuming is great
Accessory life can be reviewed and most parts are easily replaced and have a decent lifespan. They do last a decent amount of time.
When it comes to mopping it does a decent job too.
Biggest negative aside from the app is the cost of detergent which co.es in a plastic cartridge rather like a giant printer ink cartridge. Though I. Actual use they do last a fairly long time but still more expensive. I would have rather had a bottle of detergent that I could dose the clean water reservoir with instead
I would recommend it to all my friends
The best part? It saves me so much time! Instead of vacuuming, I can relax, focus on work, or spend more time with my family. It feels like I have a little helper taking care of the cleaning while I do things I actually enjoy. If you’re looking for an easy way to keep your floors spotless without the hassle, this vacuum is a total game-changer!
I will say, it is supplemental to regular vacuuming and mopping. It’s not a deep cleaner, but for daily clean ups and spills it’s the perfect robot for the job!
I especially love that it can transition from carpet to hard floors AS it’s vacuuming and mopping, and the camera/app controls are perfect for wanting to run it while everyone is at school and work.
Definitely worth the investment!
There was a bit of a learning curve at first, especially when programming it to suit my needs and figuring out the optimal cleaning schedule for my floors. However, once I set it up, it became a “set it and forget it” device. I have two small dogs and always found clumps of dust and hair in the corners of some rooms. My wood floors now gleam, and my carpets always look freshly vacuumed with those satisfying vacuum patterns. I was so impressed that I told our cleaning lady to skip the floors entirely and focus on other areas of the house. Honestly, the robot does a better job than she ever did!
I have a two-story home with a third level (master bath up a flight of stairs), and I recently added the second-floor map. While mapping was seamless, I initially struggled with getting it to clean the upstairs without bringing it back downstairs to re-moisten the mop pads. Eventually, I figured out that I need to ensure there are no areas that it wants to mop during its cycle.
The app could use some improvements—it can be a bit glitchy, freezes occasionally, and sometimes struggles to connect to the robot. While this doesn’t affect the robot’s performance, it can be frustrating. The onboard camera is fun but not very practical and it sometimes struggles to connect to the camera during cleaning cycles.
One of the best aspects of this robot is how well it avoids getting stuck. In the past month, it’s only gotten caught twice: once on an iPhone charging cord (totally my fault) and once under a chair. It didn’t cause any damage, and I’ve learned to clear potential obstacles before it starts cleaning. It always finds its way back to the base without issues.
I was lucky enough to snag this robot at a 50% discount over the holidays, and while I’d love another one for the second floor, the price is a bit steep to justify for now. For anyone on the fence, I cannot recommend this device enough. It has exceeded my expectations in every way and has truly made keeping my home spotless easier than ever. Five stars!
**** update 2/25/25
I’ve been using the robot for over three months now without any major issues. I’m surprised how long the detergent lasts. After three months of weekly mopping the entire downstairs (almost all wood floors) the detergent is at 65%. I was worried all the mop pads cleanings would significantly reduce the detergent.
However, I’m reducing my rating from 5 stars to 3 for the following reason: their customer service center cannot seem to answer a basic question about something that was initiated on their end. While I do get a “stock”response that they are “working on my question” they ultimately never resolve my concern and keep “assuring me” that I should “rest assured” my case is “escalated to the appropriate team” but then I don’t hear back until I write them again. This has been going on each week for over a month now and after trading over a dozen emails, I’m wasting time while getting no closer to getting my question answered. I used to manage a service desk and any tickets open longer than two weeks would be sent directly to the Chief Information Officer. So, to me, this is completely unacceptable for a service desk and, thankfully, my question was not about the specific functioning of the robot! I would worry if I had a technical or warranty issue…good luck.
*update 3/7/2025
After 5 weeks and at least 10 email requests for an update, Dreame FINALLY resolved my issue and so I will add back one star. Overall, the product itself is excellent and hasn’t given me one bit of trouble and has kept my floor sparkling clean for the past three months, but I don’t know how responsive they would be if I truly had a warranty or repair issue with this product.
The Dreame isn’t perfect—like many have mentioned, the app is a bit clunky. However, once you get used to it, it’s manageable. Since I already have four other Dreame vacuums (no mops), it’s convenient to control all of them through the same app.
In terms of cleaning, it’s pretty good—not as thorough as a manual scrub, but effective enough for daily messes, especially if you have young children and a dog like I do. It’s a relief to have a “set and forget” robot that handles the work while I focus on other things. Of course, there’s some maintenance involved, like emptying the water and dust bags and washing parts, but it’s far easier than manual mopping or using a wet vacuum.
It’s worth noting that the vacuum takes quite a long time to run. I let mine clean every other day, and I’m loving the consistently clean floors. Overall, I’d recommend this product, as long as you have realistic expectations about its capabilities. It’s a great tool for maintaining cleanliness without too much effort!
Besides refilling and emptying the water tanks it’s pretty much setting up a schedule and forgetting about it. My floors are cleaner than they have ever been and I haven’t really needed to mop or sweep at all this month. It also cleans the mop heads so it’s really is self cleaning(Jetson future coming soon)
Only small complaint is it’s not a power scrubber so stains that dry needed it’s own spot mopping which my steam mop even struggled so if that struggled I’m not to upset about it not getting
At $400 I was nervous it would under perform for the money but haven’t regretted the purchase yet.
Pros:
- It cleans well. You can control the vacuum & mopping levels in the app. It does a great job of cleaning up dust, pet hair, and dirt.
- Mapping. The robot maps the floor, so it can evenly clean everywhere, and it can automatically determine where to vacuum and where to mop. It also attempts to avoid obstacles, but it isn't perfect. It seemed to navigate between chair legs well though.
- It's quiet. It's quieter than my previous Roomba and I'm pretty sure this one has higher suction too, which is lovely.
- It's relatively easy to set up and use. It automatically mops your floor. I plan to replace the water and empty the dust bag every 3 uses. Both are easy to remove from the base.
- Scheduling / remote use. You can set automatic cleaning schedules in the app. You can also remotely start and monitor the bot.
Cons:
- Google Home integration. From what I can gather online, I should be able to add it as a device in the Mi Home app, then port it to Google Home. However, after I connected it to the Mi Home app, I was able to see the bot status, but I wasn't able to send any input to the bot. Then I tried to port it to Google Home, but received an error stating no compatible devices were available from the Mi Home app. This is a big bummer because I would like to use Google Home to trigger the bot to run when I'm not home. I'll probably try again in a week. For now, I am using the Dreame app and stuck settings a hardcoded schedule.
- Unpolished software. This bot seems like it was originally designed for China and then adapted for other countries as an after-thought. The text in the app feels like it's been translated with mediocre quality. It could use some more detailed descriptions of the settings as well. This is a pretty minor inconvenience though and it didn't prevent me from configuring the bot as desired.
- No replacements included. It would have been nice to have a replacement filter, bag, and brush included. Individual replacements through the Dreame store are expensive, so I will probably just have to buy a parts bundle here on Amazon when the time comes.
The mapping and navigation are spot-on, avoiding obstacles and covering every corner. The app is easy to use for scheduling and customizing cleanings, and the long battery life ensures it finishes even large areas in one go. Overall, it’s an impressive vacuum that’s made my life so much easier. Highly recommend!
Honestly no other better vacuum cleaner that serves my purpose exists below this range.
The camera on top is great for capturing what’s in the room and to plan out the floor plan. Within 15 minutes the dream vacuum had my entire 2,000 sq ft house mapped out.
PROS:
1- Very easy to assemble
2- Very easy to setup and make the link with your cell phone. ( Application )
3- Very good mapping of my house.
4- It will clean the entire house or the designed area very well
5- You can select vacuum, mopping or both on each area, so it will follow your programmed instructions.
6- It won't get lost or stuck 99% of the time. (In 1 month, it's only happened to me 2 times: the first time because I left a washcloth on the bathroom floor and the wheels got stuck with it, and the second time the wheels got stuck with some Christmas sewing thread I left on the kitchen floor.)
7- Easy to add clean water and dispose wastewater. It will clean the mops automatically which is a very good feature.
8- I have programmed it to work starting at 1am ( excluding my bedroom) , so I find my house very clean every morning.
CONS:
1- I think the battery should last a bit longer. In my case, 4 bedrooms, 1 kitchen, family room, hall and 3 bathrooms, it automatically goes to its base to recharge a couple of times during the night. However, that doesn't bother me until today.
2- I refill with water, discard the waste water and clean my robot every day. It may not be necessary, but I like to keep it clean most of the time.
3- Every night I check that the floor is free of stuff to prevent it from getting stuck in the wheels of my robot.
So far, I am very happy with this robot.
After about 2 months use, I corrected my opinion of battery life. The bot can optimize its cleaning route to save battery, After so many runs, it can finish the 1st floor 1500sqt in about 2 hours running and still have 30% of battery. I am happy with the result
As others have mentioned, the app does have a bit of a learning curve. It’s not a “plug-and-play” experience right out of the box. It took some experimenting and trial-and-error to get it figured out, but once I did, it became intuitive and easy to use.
Our home has ceramic tile floors, and with two dogs—one of them a lively 9-month-old puppy—our floors are usually a mess by the end of the day with grass, dirt, and all sorts of debris being tracked in. We decided to name our robot vacuum “Sparky,” and since we purchased it in August, Sparky has been cleaning and mopping every night. I have to say, it’s done an impressive job, and both my wife and I truly appreciate waking up to clean floors every morning.
I did set up a no-go zone for Sparky, and although it crossed into that area once and then stopped with a message saying it had entered a restricted zone, this has only happened that one time. It’s been smooth sailing ever since.
We also have a couple of throw rugs—one with tassels and one without. The tassels tend to get caught in the vacuum, so I’ve made that carpet a no-go zone. The other rug, a low-pile mat near the front door, is cleaned every other day without any issues.
One feature I particularly enjoy is the ability to see where Sparky has cleaned on the mapped floor plan. If it’s currently cleaning, I can track its progress in real-time. It even has an onboard camera that lets you see from the robot’s perspective. While not exactly practical, it’s a fun and quirky feature to have.
Overall, if you’re considering a robot vacuum/mop, I’d confidently recommend this one to my family and friends. It’s made our daily routine much easier, and Sparky has exceeded our expectations.
While it worked I loved the unit. It did a very good job overall. However, at 9 months it had to be sent in for a repair (laser unit failed) this was after more than two weeks of going back and forth with support over things to try. Repair took two weeks and came back. Had to set it up all over again and then it went out and mapped. When it came back it wouldn't dock. No matter what I tried it wouldn't dock. So a few more weeks of back and forth with support and they said it needed to go in for repair. I stated that it had been over a month and the unit was only 9 months old and I thought they should replace it rather than expect me to believe it would be repaired correctly this time. So now it's been a week and I haven't heard anything from them (not unusual to go a few days with no response). I've given up and bought another unit from another company. Sad because I liked the unit and the program but not willing to spend almost a hundred dollars a month for the privilege of using it. This company does not comprehend standing behind their product, does not do a good job of responding to a customer with a problem (you get two emails a day or two after you send in a problem, you respond and spend another two days and then you have to send another email requesting a response then you get another two emails and so on.. Until they stop responding to you at all.
I'll continue to update as needed.
I love this product. I have it mop our house every day! Every. Day! It makes my floors nice and clean. It’s super easy to use and I love the integration of the vacuum bag so I don’t have to empty it all the time. It docks great after cleaning. My only issue is the roller. If string gets in there it cuts through the plastic roller. That could be a better design. The docking station is easy to clean as well. I like the map function and that it can avoid doggie accidents if you turn that feature on. It is super quiet. We don’t hear it at night when it’s mopping outside our bedroom door. It is a nice size and stores nicely under our breakfast nook. It’s very stable and doesn’t go down our stairs. Very intuitive.
I got this in July of last year. It worked well for 5 months. Then it started giving brush errors every few minutes and would stop working. I reached out to support as it was still under warranty and they asked to ship the product to their repair center. I did and they took three months to repair and send it back. After three months I received an email that said I should test and report its functionality within 24 hours of receiving it after repair. When I checked it worked fine for sometime and started giving the same error again. When I reached out to support about it there is no response. Buy something else that has better support for the amount of money you spent on it.
UPDATE - I exchanged 34 emails with the support team. No resolution yet. They asked me to send videos with errors and I did. Most Pathetic customer service I ever saw. DO NOT BUY. They do not have proper customer service even when the devices fails under warranty. This is most regretful purchase of my life.
Edit - Updated to 5 star - The customer service seems to have changed. They provided a certified refurbished machine initially when I said it is not working then they replaced again with a brand new machine. They also turned out to be very responsive and quick in replying back. This was much better than experience compared to earlier. I would give them a 5 star based on how the customer service has changed.
The L10s Ultra boasts incredibly powerful suction, effortlessly picking up everything from pet hair to fine dust. It seamlessly transitions between carpets and hard floors, adjusting its cleaning power as needed.
This robot vacuum's intelligence is remarkable. It swiftly maps out my home and creates efficient cleaning paths, ensuring comprehensive coverage. The accompanying app allows for customized cleaning zones and schedules, adding to its convenience.
The self-emptying base is a significant innovation. It empties the robot's dustbin, freeing me from this chore for weeks. Additionally, the mop pads are automatically washed and dried, ensuring they are always fresh and ready for use.
The mopping function is equally impressive, leaving my hard floors spotless and tackling sticky messes with ease. The feature that lifts the mop pads when transitioning to carpets is particularly brilliant.
The Dreame L10s Ultra has surpassed all my expectations. It's a true cleaning powerhouse that has simplified my life immensely. If you're seeking the best robot vacuum on the market, this is it. It's worth every penny!
We chose the Roomba I7 with the intention of getting a mop to clean behind it. Right after we got it Irobot came out with the j7 and I wish we had sent the i7 back but I digress.
The i7 has been very fussy, navigation problems, not wanting to empty the bin... mostly not parking itself correctly and not charging.
We moved to a new house and shortly after that got this for the main floor after going through several reviews. I LOVE this thing. I change the water twice a week and other than that I almost don't know it's there.
Pros:
Quiet - It does the whole downstairs every night while we're in bed. If I happen to wake up while it's working I can just barely hear it. It cleans the kitchen every evening after dinner and in the next room I also barely hear it. It does get louder on carpet but that's to be expected
Good navigation - it has no trouble navigating the space and finding it's way into the kitchen (which the i7 struggled with).
It's easy to send out to clean up a mess real quick: Just tap go to device, tap zone on the next page, then move the little blue square over where you need it to clean on the map. It goes and cleans that area and goes to the base. Spot cleaning was hit and miss with the irobots unless i saved a clean zone and sometimes even if I had one saved.
My floors are clean ALL the time
Cons:
The app is a bit tedious to navigate and figure out and Dreame doesn't give you much direction for that
When i schedule the robot to vacuum only it seems to mop also unless I have my main setting on vaccum only.
That's pretty much it.
I may get another for upstairs but I'm not in a big hurry because the i7 seems to be happier up there for some unknown reason. The only thing I would need it up there for is mopping so we'll see. I may just take this one up there now and then and have it mop and spot mop myself in between.
The only reason I would regret buying this as opposed to any other, is my budget for a new vacuum didn't allow me to buy the newer models of this one. Still extremely happy with this one.
I'll start with the two negatives. The scheduling in the app isn't really straightforward, but works well once you figure it out. And the 2nd is it takes quite a while to do our house. We start it at 8:30 AM, and it oftentimes finishes after 2PM. It's not constantly running the entire time, but it does go back to the base, dump the dust, dirty water, recharge and refill it's water. It charges maybe 2-3x every time it does our house. We do have a relatively big house, with mostly tile flooring and a couple carpeted rooms(and a couple floor coverings), so it switches between mop and vacuum mode pretty often.
The house mapping is great, it creates a map of your house and you can always see where the Vacuum is by looking in the app. It will also tell you where you have objects that you should move(like dangling wires). It will even in many cases identify what the object is(Shoes, power cables etc).
I was able to install the Alexa skill for it and get it to trigger by using alexa. Was even able to get it to run anytime we set our alarm during the day(so if we leave, it would run... which turned out to be WAY too often, so we turned that off).
The vacuum will get stuck at times, typically if you forget to store a cable or something, it sometimes doesn't avoid them and will get stuck in the pads and it will alert you that it's stuck. This doesn't happen that often. It avoids most obstructions like shoes, boxes and things like that that you leave around the house. It appears to do a very good job mopping the entire floor and switches very well between carpet and tile. It raises the pads and I've never had an issue with it getting the carpet wet.
Every time we drain the water from the base, it's dirty, so it does appear it's cleaning the floor pretty well. We have gray tile so it's hard to see dirt on it.
Just overall really happy with it. My floors seem cleaner than they've ever been.
If you're looking for a robot vacuum and this is in your budget... buy it. If you have a larger budget, then buy the newer versions.
What I wanted it to do, and it does is daily light cleaning and intermittent mopping which it does well.
What it definetely needs is a better app and what it dearly needs is an explanation of the icons on the app and how to set up a daily/weekly program etc.
What saved my bacon is a kind reviewer who set out in detail of how to set up and program the map and the schedule. If I could send this person a dozen roses I would do so!
I have copied and pasted her (assuming it's a her) notes on this below as I can't find the original posting now.
The L10s is a revelation. Set it up, and turn it on - one hiccup with the app saying it would tell me when it had connected to wifi which it didn't, but it did connect, and a second where when playing with the app I think I emptied the water tank so the first run it didn't mop correctly, but otherwise super easy. Then it says it wants to map the house - we have a big, open floor plan house with rugs, chairs, etc etc - and within 10 minutes it was done - amazing. App showed everything. Only downside is our glass sliding doors confused it - it built an entire room that was outside on the patio that I had to fix later on with virtual walls.
I then edited the map and that wasn't super easy but it worked. Gave me some obscure errors when I split up the open floor plan into kitchen/entry/etc, but eventually it worked. Drew in some no-go areas around cords/couches it could stuck under, and that was easy. It got stuck on some light bathmat type rugs when I ran it for the first time, so I went back in and "no-go'ed" those as well and after that all was good.
The app seems designed around a "set up and run jobs in real time" flow which I found odd - I'm used to setting up a scheduled task and having it go. That was harder to set up than it needed to be - first have to set up shortcuts, shortcuts have a weird "task" substructure that took a little time to figure out, then have to go into a submenu under the "three dots" and find "scheduled cleaning" - it all worked but the work flow was not at all obvious. And there is zero documentation on the app in the otherwise good manual. App is super capable and there isn't one thing I needed to do that it can't do, but did take some spelunking around.
Then I set it to clean, and wow again! Goes out, cleans where I told it, respects the no-go zones, doesn't get stuck, doesn't miss spots, goes around chair legs, drives home when needs to charge/clean/refill, and empties itself. Much much quieter than my old iRobot so that I can even run it at night without waking everyone up. Floor mopping is ok - our floors were dirty (hate mopping which is why I didn't do it often and bought the robot!), but after a few passes and jobs it looks way better.
I’ve spent a lot of time with this thing trying to figure out the app and settings. This is a great vacuum, but I think the app needs to be reorganized to be more intuitive and user-friendly. There definitely should be a setup Wizard to guide cleaning scheduling and creating Shortcuts. Shortcuts let you design quick cleaning modes that can also be used to schedule cleanings. You can select room order, type of cleaning for each room, how many days a week to do the cleaning. You set up Tasks in the short cut to achieve this. It was a little confusing. The Shortcuts are a separate thing to use for creating cleaning tasks. You don’t need to create them when scheduling and setting up cleaning, but they are a nice feature that makes it easier once you set it up.
VacuumThenDeepMopByRm - 1 Day / Week.
The tasks in this one tells the robot to vacuum once, then mop each non-carpeted room 3x at the dampest, deep clean setting. The robot returns to base to self clean mop pads each time it finishes vacuuming and mopping a room.
4.)
PMVacuum - 5 Days / Week.
I have it light vacuum the high traffic areas only in the evening.
5.)
PMVacuumThenLightMop - 2 Days / Week.
I have it touch-up mop on a medium setting 1 or 2 passes depending on the area.
STEP 4: Schedule Cleanup
On the Main Page, Choose “Go to the device —>” button, then the upper right three dots menu, then “Scheduled Cleanup”.
Press the blue Plus icon in the lower right corner. Set the start time, how often to repeat, and the Mode. You have three options on how to instruct cleaning; Global Cleaning, Shortcuts that have been setup, and New Setup.
Global Cleaning is the default. I didn’t cover how to do this specifically, because it’s in the main menu and seemed self-explanatory to me.
Shortcuts will have the Shortcuts created in Step 3.
New Setup option lets you customize what rooms you want to clean and how you want them cleaned with all settings for vacuum and mopping options. You can use this to create multiple times and days to clean any combination of rooms and cleaning settings by room you want.
NOTES:
1.) I have a pet, but I chose No Pets under the AI Recognition menu, because I want the robot to clean as thoroughly as possible, and my dog will most likely not have an accident in the house. This is found under the three dots icon in the upper right corner. Press icon > AI Recognition under the Function Settings section of that menu.
2.) If you create tasks then modify the map (combine areas, separate areas) the tasks will disappear. It warns you about this. You just have to recreate tasks, so get your map the way you want it first.
3.) When I turned off the No Pets, it got stuck wedging itself under a bench, in the same place twice. It corrected this in later runs.
MY REVIEW:
If you can accept this vacuum will ultimately make your life easier, and do everything pretty well to very well, then it’s for you. If you want a machine that really vacuums up pet hair from a carpet, you’re going to want to keep looking. It does an okay job, but not a great job on carpet.
This will help me have to deep clean every 3 months instead of every month. I have a Husky.
Overall now that I’m done being frustrated and we get along, I’m happy with my little robot.
******************** PROS AND CONS ********************
Pros
- Mopping is great on deep mopping setting, maximum dampness, and maximum passes (3x) for an area. I have it clean the mop pads before going to the next set area.
- Vacuuming Non-Carpet great. Even using standard settings and passing over an area 2-3x. No vacuum will get it right with just one pass.
- Auto-mopping cleaning and Auto-empty vacuum fantastic
- Map Layout editing tools are pretty easy to use. You can pinch the map to zoom in or out.
- The guides and obstacle navigation worked perfectly as far as I could tell.
- Being able to start and stop the vacuum remotely, see its progress, turn on the camera and guide it are really cool features. I even used the microphone to talk to my dog. It scared him a little at first, but when he calmed I was able to get him to sit and lie down. Could be a good thing for separation anxiety (for the pet owner more than the pet!)
- There are multiple ways to setup cleaning
- Directly scheduling cleaning is easy to setup
- Creating tasks to schedule cleaning was not great.
- Customer Service was great both times I called.
- It’s the only vacuum at this price point I saw with good ratings that have the rotating mop pads, auto empty and clean, and vacuum. I’m a big fan of Eufy, but I’m not a fan of having to empty the dust bin every time. If I forget to empty, it stops the vacuum. Not good if I’m not home.
Cons
- Battery can’t get through a deep clean of my apartment. It has less than 500 sq. ft. of cleaning area, and it has to dock and recharge.
- Recharge is triggers at 15%. I wish this was editable setting. I don’t see why a battery couldn’t get down to say 5% before recharging. It would probably be enough to let it complete a complete run-through for me. My place is not huge, it can make it to the base probably on 1-2% battery.
- Quick Mapping not a time saver. It missed the carpeted room completely. I guided it to that area and it continued. This caused the map to be uneditable for splitting or combining an area. I set it to vacuum only and let it do a pass cleaning, and that corrected the map inaccuracies. It may be easier to just let it clean first and skip the Quick Mapping.
- Bad on Carpets. It doesn’t clean well on medium pile carpet. I let the vacuum clean three times, morning, night, and the next morning. All were set to highest suction and highest (3x) passes. I then took a Dyson stick vacuum to the carpet and it extracted a lot more dust and dog hair than a reasonable person would expect from this vacuum.
- Map hard to read. When you zoom in on the map, the names and numbers stay small. It would be nice if these enlarged with the zoom in, or have the info in an editable menu below the map when you select an area.
- Power went out and vacuum went offline. I couldn’t access wifi in the app to reset it. I had to call CS and find out I needed to delete the robot from the app and go through the wifi setup process again. Thankfully this worked without losing the mapping and programming. This could be easily fixed with a link to the wifi settings from the robot is offline message
******************** TIPS AND TRICKS FOR SETUP PROCESS ********************
I have a large one bedroom, single floor apartment, so it’s a lot more vacuum and mop than I need, but that’s my layout.
There seem to be two main ways to do the setup, but both start the same.
STEP 1: Quick Mapping or Run the first cleaning
(you MUST do this first)
Quick Mapping - I initially scrapped the quick map it made, because it didn’t identify rooms, and I didn’t help it get past the confusion. The vacuum winked at the kitchen, felt the carpet to the bedroom and said, “yep those are rooms!”, and skipped them. I think the metal floor finish confused it. Instead, I let it run it’s first cleaning, and it mapped from that. I still had to follow it around and give it a boost into the kitchen and bedroom. Either way, same experience. You may have to help it get over its fear.
STEP 2: Edit Map
On the lower left corner of the map page, there is a layers icon named Map.
Click on this to set up No-Go Zones / Virtual Walls, Editing the Areas the robot mapped, and Carpet Settings.
Do Area Editing first, I wish I had. If there’s an area you want to split, select it, then move the line to where you want to split it into two. Select two areas next to each other to merge them, then click Merge. Always select the area first, then the task you want to do (Rename, Split, Merge, change Floor material)
STEP 3: Set Up Shortcuts (potentially skippable step)
This allows you quick buttons for customized cleaning. They can also be used to set-up Scheduled Cleanup. If you want to just program set cleaning times or use the global cleaning setup, skip to Step 4.
Located on the MAIN PAGE when you open the app, not under the Device page as you might think. It’s in a menu on the middle right side of the phone frame, and the icon is a piece of paper with a lightning bolt. It’s stacked under the camera icon on the same little menu.
Do this after you have your map setup the way you want it, but BEFORE scheduling any cleaning.
Shortcuts allow you to create tasks and order them how you want them completed for that shortcut. So, if you want the tell the robot to vacuum, then mop, or only vacuum at a certain time, this is how you’ll do it. You will set-up a Shortcut for each group of tasks you want completed at a certain time and day(s).
My Five Shortcuts are:
1.)
AMVacuum - 7 Days / Week.
I have the tasks to vacuum all rooms in the morning, setting the bedroom to be vacuumed thoroughly.
2. & 3.) (task to vacuum, task to mop)
OK, so only one day in with my new floor cleaning robot, but wow am I impressed with this thing! Read a bazillion reviews before choosing the L10s, so had set my expectations for it doing ok but getting stuck, for the app to be hard to use, and for the cleaning being meh... Exceeding all of those expectations so far.
We had an iRobot 900 series before (vacuum only) so that was my comparison bar. It was ok but bumped into things constantly, didn't ever finish a job without issue, had to have the bin emptyed constantly, and was really noisy.
We'll see how it goes, but so far first impressions are fabulous.
Two Month Update:
- still love Kevin which is what we named him.
- Floors are so much cleaner than before, and he continues to work tirelessly without much issue.
- A couple of problems.
- He has gotten stuck a few times, usually between the legs of our dining room chairs.
- He is really bad with cords - if you have a cord that isn't in a no-go/exclusion zone, he swallows those up and gets stuck. So you have to use the "no go" zone feature on the map to keep him out of danger.
- this is the biggest issue - he has a *tiny* little draw tube between the dirty water tank and the pad rinsing area. And even with the plastic screen to keep out debris, it doesn't always work and it doesn't take much to clog the intake tube. and when that happens, you come downstairs to a puddle of water on your floor. happened twice so far and I've had to jam a pipe cleaner into it to clear out the clog. Poor design.
I run the dreame every morning. It mapped out my house and cleans it in the same order each day. When it gets full of pet hair and dirt it will go back to the dock to empty itself. It also cleans the mop pads several times during the cleaning cycle so that it doesn’t just push around the dirt. We have about 3,000 sf in our downstairs with a few area rugs and it does a great job. It lifts onto the rugs and you’ll hear the suction increase to make sure it gets all the pet hair and dirt.
The app is awesome because it will tell you if it is stuck, shows you a visual of the house and progress of cleaning, and allows you to control the robot right from your phone. The robot also talks to tell you when it’s starting to clean, cleaning the mop pads, emptying the waste bin, or stuck. The app also tells you when it’s time to change the water out or the vacuum bag.
I’ve used this for several weeks and haven’t had to change the bag out yet. I do change the water out each morning before I start the vacuum. It’s also aware of pets in the home, which is great because my cats always liked to chase my previous robot vacuums which would mess up their cleaning cycle, whereas this one is unaffected by them chasing it.
If you’re thinking about getting a robot vacuum/mop combo, I highly recommend this one over the $1000 ones.
What it does very well:
1. Maintains your house clean from daily dust build-up and minor liquid spills. This includes some hard to reach areas like under beds.
2. Highly customizable cleaning options through the app, you can give rooms custom names, and rooms are easy to divide.
3. Low maintenance. I have to fill the clean water tank every other mopping session but that’s no big deal.
4. The map is very dynamic. It’s fairly easy to add rooms that it might’ve missed in the initial mapping.
What it does ok in / has minor issues:
1. At least in my house I have it set to mop 4 times a week and dirt accumulates faster than what it can mop it. Maybe letting it mop every day is the way to go, at the cost of the cleaning solution running out faster.
2. It’s object detection is alright at guessing what it’s looking at and sometimes “detects” something that’s actually really far away, but this doesn’t stop it from cleaning the area it found the fake obstacle in.
3. It has gotten stuck a couple of times on my sectional which has a leg that goes across the floor, and also on piled up cables, where it continued to drag it along in one occasion. A no-go zone fixed this and it’s good at detecting and avoiding cables that are along the floor and not piled up.
4. Floor-to-ceiling mirrors tend to confuse it and causes phantom rooms to be created in the map. Once again, no-go zones are your friend here.
5. If it passes next to a room that it hasn’t cleaned yet and the door is closed it will close off the room in the map and not clean the room at all. Leave all doors open beforehand.
6. My house is just over 1,100 square feet and if I let it pass once in every room it can clean the whole space with charge to spare. If I let it pass twice in all the rooms that get dirty quicker it falls short and has to recharge in the middle of the session. I resume it at around 50% charge and it finishes.
7. When it’s cleaning around the edges of carpets the it tends to mop them. At least from what I’ve felt the carpet is still pretty much dry at the end.
8. You need to play with the app for a bit to get accustomed to all the features.
What it doesn’t do well:
1. If you cook often in the kitchen and the floor gets very messy, or if some grease falls onto the floor, I highly suggest you mop the area yourself first as in my case the robot just drags around the grease and leaves a film all over the floor. It continues to leave the film until it cleans its mop pads twice. (After the first mop pad clean the residue is less but it’s still visible)
2. The type of tile I have lets some dirt bits stick on it, to the point where I have to use a tool other than a mop or broom to get it off (or my fingernail). The robot cannot pick up these dirt bits.
3. It cannot reach corners.
I got it for $675 and during Black Friday I saw it for $630. If you can get it for a deal like that it’s a great purchase.
Update 7/2024 - Still love it! No issues to date. Things it got stuck on, dryer pad got bundled up and jammed a wheel, sucked in a shirt I forgot to pickup, got stuck on a toilet rug once, but not often. Tells me what its doing and as long as I keep its water filled and dirty water empty, nothing much to do but have a clean home. One cool feature, as it cleans a throw rug, one of its wheels actually lifts up the side entering the rug, it also kind of rotates as it enters the rug so its not head on. The assumption is it gets a better opportunity to get on top of the rug without sucking the edge in. It will also turn off suction for a moment as it tries different orientations to get on top of the rug. Very good software! STILL AMAZING!!
Update 4/2024 - Again, still amazing!!! I have been through one map pad cycle, just replaced them today. The only issue I have had was my roller somehow got damaged. I think it sucked in the edge of a plastic mat and chewed up one edge of the roller. But here is the good news, I emailed support, got a FAST response and in the end, they sent me a new roller, for free! I continue to LOVE this robot! It has completed 61 cleaning cycles for a total area cleaning of 3412 m^2 at 4850 min ... SUCCESSFULLY!! WOWZERS!!! It has tracked water and waste water usage accurately, tells me when to clean the sensors and the bottom mop cleaning pan, and bottom line, the dang robot just WORKS! Go figure :) And floor and carpet cleaning continues to be fantastic! I continue to be VERY impressed.
Update 12/2023 - still awesome!! I have the Dreametech L10s Ultra Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo. Been using it nearly every day for 13 days, without getting stuck or an error. Wow! I have a small single-story home, the map says it cleans about 73m^2 of floor and two bedrooms with carpet. Also, have some rugs in the bathrooms over tile. I would start with the bad .... but no negatives yet! WHAT!! Yep, can't believe it. The L10 is so cool, it mops and vacuums at the same time. Love the spinny dual mop pads. Before it starts cleaning, it gets the pads wet, then mops/vacs my floors and lifts the mop pads up (like magic) on the rugs. It seems to run out of juice just before finishing the whole space. Then the bot goes back, empties itself, cleans the mop pads, dries them, and charges. When charged, it completes the job. Then empties itself, cleans the mop pads, dries them, and charges, again. AMAZING! I wanted to give the bot a workout so I have it mop/vac every weekday. I have to add more water and dump the dirt once about every 4-5 days. Next week I'll reduce the cleaning to 3 days per week.
The app was perfect and the instructions were clear, had Zero issues connecting the bot to the app and network. Messages are great, tell you when to dump the water/or add a slightly weird message "Self-cleaning is complete. Pour out the wastewater in time." It also told me when to clean the removable map pan of dirt after about 10 days of use (give or take). Great!
I love that the bot does NOT run into the walls and my furniture like my Romba did (I called it "bam bam"). This bot has the Lidar, Lasers (I think), and a front camera, no bam-bam! I let it clean my kids' room with all his crap laying all over the floor, this robot navigated and cleaned what open areas it could, nothing got sucked in and the bot didn't get stuck!! Magic I tell you!!
Remote control, so how cool is this!!! I had a spill in my kitchen so did I grab a mop, NOOOO! I pulled out my phone and had fun driving my robot to the spill and let it mop it up. Up and back, left and right, all clean!! Then push the home button and it goes back, cleans itself, and all that!
Lastly, if you have grandkids, you gonna LOVE LOVE LOVE the front camera! You can talk through the robot as well. When they come over I chase them around the room making scary noises, ha, ha. Now they have PTSD, but I had a blast, and it even lets you take snapshots! AHHHHH faces mostly, lol.
So bottom line, great storage for water and dirty water, a cool extra that adds cleaning solution to the mop pads, vacuums and mops or just vacuums on carpets, doesn't bump into things and tear up your walls and furniture, a great app with fence and area clean (and other cool functions) schedules .... it just freakin WORKS!!!
Its 17 Nov 2023, if you don't see an update to this review, assume it's still working fantastically!! Cheers!
Along came the Dreame L10S Ultra. There was quite a bit of fiddling around the first week as the app is not very intuitive nor does it explain how to schedule things like different activities (vac + mop, vac only, mop only etc.) on different days, and there's not much in the way of instructions, "how to" tutorials or what settings do which things. You're somewhat on your own to figure out how to get the unit to do all the things you want at the times and on the days you want.
But once we got it sorted out and scheduled to vacuum+mop 3 days a week, vacuum only the other 4 days a week, and to vacuum + mop the bathrooms 7 days a week things really started to click. It also took a while to get the "no-go" areas sorted out, and to put up some virtual walls so the vacuum wouldn't suck up cords under my desk or fall out an open door if it's running while we have the house opened up. Also, like all robot vacuums, you do need to be diligent about tidying up your floor so there's no loose cables, socks, towels, lightweight bath mats etc. that can impede or stop the daily cleaning. But honestly that's for the best, as it forces us to keep our house more tidy.
Once we got all those topics addressed Penelope has been fantastic. She has had no problems navigating the house, cleaning everywhere, returning to the base station as needed or emptying either the waste water or dust bin all on her own. The last robo-vac I had, a Neato from a decade ago, couldn't vacuum a single room without getting lost or stuck in a corner and needing to be manually carried to the base to reset.
There's some regular maintenance that you need to do, such as emptying the dirty water bin and filling the clean water bin, which we have to do about twice a week. Also, with two dogs and a cat, we have to be diligent about clearing out the brush so it doesn't tangle. But the amount of time those tasks take is miniscule compared to what we were doing to keep the floors clean before Penelope came along.
My only real complaints so far are: Poorly designed mobile app that doesn't have very good instructions or tutorials on how to set things up and I *hate* that this unit uses disposable vacuum bags, it's just wasteful. A top end vacuum like this should have a hard reusable dust bin in the base station. Luckily the disposable bags that came with the unit are pretty decent quality and I was able to cut one open and glue a zipper onto it, so now it's reusable.
Overall, this unit is fantastic, I'm super glad we bought it.
First, I want to address my previous issue of the vacuum leaving behind a lot of debris. It turned out that it was clogged with dog hair. We have 3 Golden Retrievers that shed like yetis, so it’s not surprising that it got clogged. I’m not faulting the vacuum on that. What is frustrating is that there was no sensor/notification/warning that there was a problem. As it has an auto emptying feature, it didn’t occur to me that there may be something clogging it, and especially that it wouldn’t let me know. I mean my previous Roomba notified us if you looked at it funny, so I erroneously assumed this one would notify us, too. But it doesn’t. I just keeps going, and finishes the job without picking up debris. So now I just check for clogs every day when I empty the waste water and fill the water tank. Hopefully this solves the problem. When it isn’t clogged, it does vacuum pretty well on turbo mode.
Detergent. I’d love to be able to add my own detergent in the clean water tank, but the instructions say that it will degrade the tank, so not to do it. I’m not sure what material the tank is made out of that prevents you from using detergent, but this feels like a way to keep you buying their detergent that comes in a cartridge and is added directly to the water in the vacuum, not into the holding tank. This detergent has no smell whatsoever, and I’d love it if my house had that freshly-mopped smell every day. In addition, we are reactive to a lot of detergents, so we don’t love being forced into using proprietary products. We don’t seem to be reacting to this one, which is great, but I’d still much rather use my own than theirs. Plus, at the time of writing this review, it’s $40 for a 3-pack of replacement detergent cartridges. That’s insanely expensive, and wasteful. I’m going to try to find a way to refill the existing cartridge when it runs out. Otherwise, we’ll just run it without detergent.
Mopping. This does a decent job of doing a quick daily mop. It gets up footprints and light gunk very well. One of my dogs brought in a clump of muddy dirt, and I decided to see how long it would take the vacuum to get rid of the clump. It was slightly too big to be vacuumed up, so it turned into more mud when the mop pads went over it. That smeared the mud. I left it there to see if it would be cleaned up the next day. It took about 4 days for all of the mud to be cleaned. So this isn’t a heavy duty cleaner/scrubber, but for an every day cleaner, it does work well.
Accessories: you can check the status of the accessories (mop pads, side brush, brush roller, etc) in the app. They base the life of the accessories on hours used. After 3 weeks of daily mopping, my mop pads are at 51%. You can get an 8 pack of replacements for $21 currently on Amazon. This seems like the part that will have to be replaced the most often, and the replacement cost doesn’t seem to be outrageous.
Function: my Roomba (previous to this) bounced from room to room like a drunken pinball machine. It would go over the same location several times and miss some entirely. However, this is where this vacuum absolutely shines. It goes over the area the number of times you program it to (1, 2, or 3), and doesn’t return. This is a huge benefit, as the more time it spends on the same area, the more it eats up the battery. I love that it is so efficient and good at mapping. Definitely outshines the competition in that area.
Battery: it has good battery life. It can do my entire main floor on basically one battery charge. If it does have to be recharged, it goes back to the dock automatically and comes right back to where it left off when it’s charged again.
Going from carpet to hard floor: this is another area where it shines. It easily recognizes the difference between types of flooring and adjusts quickly. We haven’t had any problem with wet carpet or rugs.
Avoiding obstacles: does great at this too. Easily navigates around my dogs or whatever random things are in the way.
Cleaning edges: it does… ok. Leaves behind some debris if it’s close to the wall, even on the setting that’s supposed to get close to the wall.
Customer service: A+. They are quick to respond to issues and work hard to solve problems. I emailed them about an issue, and they sent troubleshooting ideas and a spare part, and then called to follow up to see if the problem had been resolved. They provide top notch customer service.
App: it took a minute, but I think we got it figured out. It’s very easy to enter in different rooms, and schedule different cleaning on different days. Right now I think we have it scheduled to do a quick vacuum/mop 6 days a week, and a deeper clean one day a week. I think. We’re still figuring it out, but I’m pretty sure that’s what it’s doing.
Overall: so far, after 3 weeks of daily use, we’re pleased with the purchase. The pros outweigh the cons. We do a manual deep clean once a week to get in the corners and under the cabinets and really scrub the floors, and combined with the daily cleaning, our floors look great. I can’t vacuum and mop frequently because of back issues, so this has been a lifesaver. I’m amending my previous review to add a star. I’m leaving it at 4 stars because of the issue with it not notifying if it’s clogged, and also the requirement that you buy their detergent instead of being able to add it to the clean water tank or refill their own dispenser. But overall, we’re pleased. I would purchase this again.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I want to love this, but so far I’m pretty disappointed. It mapped my house quickly and is efficient in its path through the house. It was very easy to set up and seems like it should work well; however, the floors just don’t get clean. After vacuuming, it leaves behind a ton of debris.
I’m going to try to troubleshoot, and will update my review if there is any change.
I purchased a roborock s5 about 3 years ago. It still cleans 5 days a week but it's mopping option is not very good. The wet pad that is on the back of vacuum does not cut it. With two small children and a dog, this floor needs to be mopped regularly. I started looking for just a robot mop because I already had a vacuum that was fine. I tried 3 different ones and none of them were very good. I really did not want to fork out the money for a combination vacuum and mop that had rotating heads and self cleaned.
Eventually I did and I do not regret it. It's navigation and mapping is every bit as good as the roborock is, which is to say very good. The auto emptying dust bin is fantastic. I was a little skeptical of the base station using a bag to empty the vacuum in to but that has not been a problem at all. They do not fill up very quickly and are cheap enough to replace. The mop works as good as you could hope for from such a small device. Great to run every day to keep and mix in the occasional deep clean by hand. The only issue I have, and it is a small one, I have to replace the water tank and empty the waste water about every 4 days.
It has a camera on the front of the unit you can see through the app which is fun but does raise some privacy concerns. I have used the camera along with the remote control option in the app to check on the house while away.
Got it out of the box and setup which wasn't too bad. Convenient set of instructions are on the lid when you open it and they walk you through each step. I opted for the Dreame app after trying the Mi home. the mi home app doesn't allow for firmware updates or to use the camera to look around which is a nice feature. You can use it while the vacuum is cleaning so you can see exactly where its at which is convenient for me. I also like that it requires a PIN for you to view the camera each time and it announces it via the voice on the vacuum when the camera is being used and then when you stop using the camera. Unfortunately it sounds like a mini saw with a very loud whining sound. I hope the manufacturer sees this and helps me out with some suggestions on how to fix it. I will reach out to their support and hope it can easily and quickly be resolved. So far it is making its first run at cleaning so I can only say that it seems to do a good job besides the loud noise. It mapped my house in 9 minutes. Compared to my roomba which takes like 1.5 hours. Naming the rooms was odd. I tried to use "Game Room" and it told me no special characters. I then tried just Game and that worked for a room name. Just kinda strange that maybe it saw the space between the words as a special character? I have to give it low stars for the noise as on all the reviews I've seen, their machine doesn't make this sound. I fully let it charge and followed all the instructions. I paused the job and turned it over and checked for anything in the brushes etc. All is clear, it just makes the sound and I don't know where it comes from. I wanted to post the review and video in case someone else has the same issue to let them know they aren't alone.
First, my L10s vacuum suddenly died on me. The three lights on the robot blink constantly but I can't reset it and Its literally a brick right now. My vacuum is less than six months old and already completely dead.
Second I made the mistake of contacting customer support. (They only have email correspondence). At first the rep went through basic things to get the robot to function, none of them worked. "Karen" then took my purchase info and told me I needed to have my vacuum serviced. I said okay and asked what I needed to do from here. Now this is where the service gets terrible. He asks for all my shipping info and tells me he needs to send me a prepaid shipping label for the robot to be repaired. I said fine and sent my info to him and.......nothing. I responded a couple days later saying I never received the label or any further communication. "Karem" responded that he/she never received my shipping info. Again, I responded to the email with my info and again........nothing. This time I received and email response from "karem" that they never received a response and would be closing the ticket. He sent this in response to my shipping info email. Again, I responded pleading from him/her to not close the ticket and again sent my shipping info. This time I've received no reply and I don't know what to do to get my vacuum working. I'm currently stuck with a 1100 paperweight with no way to fix it.
I'm super disappointed with dreame especially after all the years I bought and bragged about their products. If you even remotely care about customer service or warranty service I would stay far away from dreame products.
Update: 6/15/23 After talking to a different rep and a little time I was able to receive my shipping label and sent my vacuum in for repair. This time around the experience was a lot better with a different rep keeping In touch the entire process. Now I finally have my vacuum back in perfect working order. My faith being restored in dreame.
I thought I would update my review, this still remains a solid purchase , absolutely a beast with navigation and as long as you clean the pads a beast with mopping. Haven't had any leaks which was a concern with time. However nothing yet
I saw some other commenters talk about their pets not sure why my cat loves this thing . It's also great because when we are gone for long periods we can talk to her through the robot and see her .
–----
So I have a bunch of these robots and none of them ever last longer than 5 or so years however this one is already showing signs of old age in less than 6 months. First the good
this is a tippy top notch navigator better than shark, Roomba, neato or Samsung . It's honestly not even fair for the others.
The camera is great, I use it to talk to my cat. I also would use it if my ring ever were to go off ( should be linked to Alexa and ring tbh could be the ring drone we never got)
Maps Amazing again there is no one near as good out there.
Mopping system best in class again no one close to as good as this.
Now the bad
The main brissle for the vac is made of silicone and is getting destroyed before my eyes. I get the idea, have something that's capable of doing both hard and carpet floors but it's not even been 6 months and I need to order a new one.
Suction is a little lacking for the price point, and this might be a bristle issue as well but I get the same results I would get with a shark and they are way less (mopping can't be a $500 feature it's good but not that good).
All and all I would recommend this highly if you have kid
Update*** After working with the best customer service team I have ever worked with we were able to get things correct 💯
2nd update: this is so frustrating as I love this vacuum so much. It does all the cleaning for you and does a pretty decent job. Just today (4/21/23), it started not lifting the mop pad on carpet, and when I went to check the carpet settings a notification popped up (attached in review), showing that there was an ultrasonic sensor error. The suggestion on the pop-up does not work or fix the problem. I have factory reset twice and it has still not solve the issue. I have sent an email to customer service and will update the review accordingly once this is resolved. I would like the new replacement sent to me prior to me shipping back to the old unit. That way, I will not be without a vacuum at least while they are sending the replacement.
Update: Finally received the replacement on 2/10/23 and am happy to have it back. Still have a similar issue (it is slightly better) but seems that it is just the way the unit is made. Provided the feedback to their customer service team and it seems that they are eager to have feedback which is definitely good for future tweaks. Overall, I love the vacuum/mop…makes my life easier and my house cleaner.
First of all, the vacuum and mop combo are amazing. Part of the reason this review is so low is that I am dealing with a frustrating warranty issue. Something that costs $1000 should have a better/more efficient process.
Warranty Issue:
Due to a malfunction of one mop pad not pulling all the way up, as it was going back to wash the mop pad and then start cleaning again, it was dragging the dirty mop pads across the carpet. I noticed right away that it was happening, and contacted warranty within 2 days of receiving.
I did the troubleshooting requirements and was able to ship back with a prepaid label. They assured me that once received, they would send out a new replacement. That was 15 days ago (on January 20) that the item was sent. I have contacted them multiple times and they blame the delay on a warehouse change. While a valid excuse, they have offered no solutions other than " Thanks for your patience and cooperation. We will update you with information soon". It is really quite frustrating as once you use something like this in your home and daily life, you don't want to be without it longer than necessary (and as promised).
Sincerely disappointed in the handling of this issue. Just hoping to have the replacement sent ASAP.
It turned out I had a faulty unit, I returned it and ordered a second one, and this one is working as expected.
The robot is able to identify obstacles correctly, find the shortest paths to get to the zone that needs cleaning.
Unlike the most other robots in the market, this one doesn't require taking the mops off when doing carpets or creating a map, it raises the mops when going over carpet or when traveling to the cleaning zone. I wish if it would raise them a bit higher though.
I use it with dreamehome app instead of Xiaomi app, because Xiaomi lacks some features that this cleaner has like Cam live view.
Overall I'm happy now with this purchase, its a lot faster than the previous model (W10) and the water tank even though a bit smaller, it lasts longer than the one on W10. customer support followed up with me and suggested I give it a second try, and I'm glad I did.
[previous review with the faulty unit]
I own an older model of vacuum/mop robot from the same company (W10), while that one has its own problems, its still able to find the path to the area to be cleaned.
This one has all the sensors that the previous model had, and added to them the camera.
It seems that this model depends more on the camera than the ultra sound sensor on the top, and it keeps avoiding area thinking there obstacles, while there is nothing on the floor.
its not able to find the path to get to where it needs to be, and if it gets there, it cleans in random moves instead of the straight lines that the previous model, and thats because again, it think there are obstacles that they are not there.
There is a good chance that I got a lemon, and they have some other units that work properly, but for this price, I would expect a better QA
Update: As promised, since it didn't have any operational flaws for 6 months after the exchange, I'm giving it 5 stars. It really is competitive vs Roborock S7 maxV ultra (which I also use for my 3rd floor). At this price range under 999 dollars, it's a steal deal considering S7 maxV ultra is at 1,399 dollars at this moment. (Or S7 is a bit overpriced.)
12. 15. 2022>
Update: Upgraded my review from 1 star to 4 stars from the service follow up. They replaced the defective one out of box with a new one. I might upgrade again if the machine continues to perform excellent. This machine is one of the first all-in-one machines that can do everything without your intervention. The only competitor would be S7 Max V Ultra. Each of them has minor pros and cons, but both of them are the top notch ones in the market for now. Just hope you're getting the ones without the critical known defect(not priming water). Then it is kinda excellent. (If you received a bad one, contact service center. They are good.)
12. 4. 2022>
Clean water wouldn't prime down to machine, leaving mops completely dry while mopping. I tried the self recovery mode and the straw trick. All failed. Without this issue, it could have become the king of Robot cleaners in late 2022 (even slightly better than S7Max Ultra due to drying feature without extra cost) but that one flaw crushed the reason to buy this.
I am very frustrated for wasting my time researching to look for something better than S7MU. If this issue does not get resolved soon, I am going to return this and will purchase an another S7MU. Definitely will avoid buying any product from this company in the future.
——-NEW OPINION——
This thing is truly awesome and its cherry on top of a fantastic product is the customer service team who made things right!
I REALLY research my products, especially ones that cost this much. I researched for a week, narrowing items down to comparing the newer Roombas, the Omni Ultra, Roborock, and Dreametech. I watched every review video on YouTube when I noticed there weren’t thousands of Amazon reviews like I typically look for. I didn’t know what a pascal unit of measurement was before…and now, I could tell you every feature.
After arduous research, I chose the Dreametech L10S Ultra over Roborock’s S7 Max V Ultra.
Then it delivered after Black Friday and the water component didn’t work [detailed in old post below]. From the moment of realizing it didn’t work, customer service was on top of it—emailing responses so quickly, sometimes within the hour to make it right. I even purchased my second option in the meantime—the Roborock S7 MAX V Ultra—and used that before my Dreametechrepalcmeent showed up a week later. RR was definitely great, but upon receiving the replacement Dreametech, this thing kicks Roborock’s BUTT. The Roborock literally wouldn’t go over my medium pile carpet, and this thing does. Not to mention getting stuck in my carpet three times daily, to a point where I though I might have to cut my carpet to get Roborock out. This has never happened with Dreametech and I’ve used it longer.
I’ll just break it down in a pros and cons list below
PROS:
* Aesthetic is on-point. Matches my decor and it has a clean, approachable appearance.
* The mapping is quick and gets smarter and faster each time it cleans. It avoids cords amazingly!! One of the mops almost tangled but it literally did a wheely and avoided it—so impressive.
* Customer service has obviously been exemplary.
* The mopping feature is as terrific as I expected—it actually cleans. Like CLEANS the floor like I would. And if you actually mop really the first time, then set this, it’ll maintain that level of clean and potentially put your mop out of a job.
* The vacuum is strong—gets all the loose cat litter, able to get onto my medium-pile rug, and it really gets things clean, as evidenced when I checked the bag. Like, I walk through my house and the carpets and hardwood FEEL clean, and I can clearly see vacuum lines.
* The app is user-friendly for the most part.
* It’s customizable clean—you can sweep, mop, sweep and mop, or sweep THEN mop. And you can also have 4 different edits for vacuum settings, including quiet. And 4 different mopping settings
* The remote control feature is nice to have
* The heating function works well!
* I love that it automatically dispenses floor cleaner to the appropriate amount only when pulling water from the reservoir. And it’s evidenced how great it mops when I poor my nasty mop water out. And I walk around and my floors are noticeably clean.
CON (opportunities for improvement with simple firmware updates)
* I wish I could rename rooms with my own names instead of the pre-set list. I don’t have a “study” but I do have “litter box area”.
* The camera sometimes identifies my carpet as a barrier. Although it does eventually get on it and gets it clean.
* Some parts of the app don’t make sense and so I don’t use them, for example: 3-D map, or “add this device to your Home Screen”
* It doesn’t guide or prompt you to set up the vacuum with Alexa or Siri, and so I haven’t taken the time to figure that out yet. Although I know it’s compatible.
* Update the app to easily use voice and video through the vacuum
* Quality control, although I had a wonderful experience with my replacement, I shouldn’t have had to do that in the first place with such an expensive item.
Even considering all of this—I would 100% buy it again and have even recommended it to my mom who is in the market for a new vacuum.
———————-OLD OPINION————————
I’m so disappointed. Like SO disappointed. I did a weeks worth of research to land on this product feeling like it was a solid choice, only to be let down by the functionality.
1. The water doesn’t come out from the base. I even tried the straw trick to suck through the get water flow to the bottom. But the fact is that I shouldn’t have to literally suck this thing off in order to get it to work. This is a $1000 vacuum, and that’s the Black Friday sale price! I really really just want the base replaced and I’d be happy with everything.
2. The vacuum on this is top tier (although it struggled to get onto my medium pile carpet. It eventually gets there, but not always.)
It’s sleek, beautiful, matches my aesthetic, and provides fantastic vacuuming, navigation, and mapping. But no matter what I did with the water tanks, resetting the system—nothing made a difference.
By the way, if you’d like instructions for how to do a system repair go to Settings—> more setting—> and then tap the firmware 10 times and it’ll pop up a blue box that asks if you want to repair the system.
I did that option 5 times to no avail. But it might work for you?
We have a two story house with all hardwood flooring on the first floor and all carpet on the second floor. We have a iRobot for upstairs carpet area. And we have a EcoVacs for downstairs hard floor.
The iRobot works ok with carpet, the navigation gets lost occasionally but overall gets the job done. We’ve been using EcoVacs N8 for the downstairs hardwood floor. The mopping isn’t good, requires constant cleaning and refills. However, that’s not the worst part. The app and software is horrible on the N8, and losses saved map constantly.
There are several things stand out on dreamehome vs the other ones we’ve used.
1. It’s equipped with a lot of sensors, providing detailed mapping and surrounding info.
2. Software engineering is pretty good. My friend said they are part of XiaoMi which makes sense why there mapping system is a lot better and their deep learning model on objects identification is impressive. It was able to tell there’s cables in the path and avoid it.
3. The app is very well designed and unlike EcoVocs losses map constantly, dreamehome draw the layout on one run and never had any issues so far.
4. The mopping is very impressive, it cleans the tile in kitchen very well. It will go back to clean it’s mop after a certain areas covered which is very thoughtful.
5. Automatic raising on the mops are awesome, it will detect area rug and raise the mood to just vacuum the rug. Also, if it goes back to clean the mop, it will go back to the spot with mop raised, so no lose of clean water on the way back.
6. The cleaning base has a removable plastic brush, we could easier clean and remove any large debris if there’s any.
7. We can remote control it like a toy car and have live video from its front camera, we can even talk through it. Not sure why we need it, but it’s fun to show to the kids.
